Inspired by the parrillas of his native Argentina and the hip enclaves of contemporary Buenos Aires, Chef Javier Bardauil brings the art of live-fire cooking to Detroit at BARDA — a modern steakhouse where ancestral traditions meet out-of-this-world innovation. The BARDA kitchen relies solely on a wood-burning grill and oven, ensuring that every dish is either flame-cooked, fire-kissed, or served raw, showcasing premium cuts of meat and high-quality seafood and vegetables prepared to highlight their natural flavors.     Had a great experience at Barda. No small detail was ignored. Cass greeted you at the door with enthusiasm and a fantastic welcome and the bar crew including Josh and Mike were excellent. Food was great and service was better.

    Potatoes and short rib are must gets. Skip the trout in my opinion. New favorite restaurant in the city

    Whereas some items on the menu were unique and delicious there are too many items that are spicy. As someone who cannot do spice my options were very limited. I thought I chose a dish that would be okay and it too was too spicy hot. Disappointing.

    As always Barda provides a delicious meal with wonderful layered flavors from drinks to dessert. We had the short rib, the beets, crudo, baked Alaska, and fennel and alcoholic and nonalcoholic cocktails. Everything was divine and cooked to perfection. This is one restaurant in Detroit which could easily fit in in any major city on any coast and we are lucky it’s here in Detroit. The staff and chef were so friendly and amazing!

    Food was delicious! Nice, vibrant atmosphere. Appetizers, entree and dessert! The Burnt Alaska was excellent, nice chocolate but not too sweet and the flaming meringue was a nice experience. The Broken Pavlova is the best dessert we have had in quite a while. The citrus mouse was so bright & light w/ flavor while the strawberries, salmon roe and hibiscus were an amazing twist! So good!

    Had the porterhouse steak with potatoes and grilled cauliflower and everything was delicious! Great Valentine’s Day! And great cocktails!
