We gave eaten at Barrio Queen many times, but not recently. Food had definitely gone downhill and service was slow. I don’t think we’ll be coming back soon. Disappointing.

We have eaten many times at the Gilbert location as well as others. We each tried the Fajitas as they are a new item. One CHIX and Shrimp and one Beef and Chicken. The shrimp were so overcooked. In fact the entire platter looked like a blackened dish. The same with the chicken and Steak. The Guacamole appetizer was excellent. Last night was a big disappointment.

There were no employees at the hostess stand or anywhere to be seen. Had to wait quite sometime before somebody noticed us and seated us. Service was blah at best. Service was blah at best. Got up and grabbed my own Salt & Pepper from the Hostess stand because again I there were no employees around. Table side Guacamole should be an experience. It was prepared off to the side of us, no conversation from staff, and was served up not mashed guacamole but chunks of guacamole. Literally everything was thrown into a bowl, stirred and served. Entrees were very disappointing. This place has gone down hill.

service was great. food was pathetic the carne asada burrito we always get at the Desert Ridge location, was not even close at the Gilbert location. it was half the size n had only 8 tiny pieces of meat in it. The Desert Ridge location is packed with meat. our server said she has had that complaint quite a few times. we won't be back to Gilbert location

This was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had eating out. In all my years of dining and managing restaurants this was completely unacceptable and ruined our evening after what was supposed to be a big celebratory day, we could not wait to leave so we could try to pick the night up on a better note. It took 15 minutes to be greeted by the server from the time we sat at 7pm, and when she went through each person she left before I could even order a drink and had to wait another 20 minutes for her to come back and even check on drinks. We were never asked if we wanted to order appetizers, and when the server did come back she told us not to order guacamole which was the primary reason we wanted to come in and eat. So we just ordered our tacos and waited another 25 minutes for that to come out. The carnitas taco I received was over cooked and dried. The server never came to check on us after the food arrived, and walked past our table and did her side work before even coming around to ask about a check. At that time we just told her one bill and she stated “that’s what I like to hear” as we’ve been waiting on her to even come back and check on us. We only paid on one check because we didn’t want to wait another 15 minutes for her to come back with a split bill. There was never any apologies, no explanation as to why the poor service, and weren’t even greeted by her on the way out. Unfortunately we weren’t the only people upset about the service of the night as we witnessed others go up to the bar for the drink they ordered at the table and never received. I’m not seeking for anyone to lose their job, however I do believe some further training and staffing is required because this makes myself rethink of ever coming back.

The food and portions were great! We went for restaurant week and the limited menu was a great way to try new dishes and get out of the norm. The margarita flight was delicious but when I asked for the drink menu to get something else, it never came. Both desserts were not available as they ran out of flan, and no alternative was given. I would definitely try it again with the full menu, but our first time did not blow me away

We went for restaurant week and ordered off the menu. We got one extra alcoholic beverage each and the price before tax and tip was $84. The food was great. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice.
