Had not been there for some time so decided to take family members having heard good comments about their food. Drinks were very expensive compared to other local outlets, beer quality was poor yet food was very good although service was very slow. Just as well we were not in any hurry!

Hi Ray, Thanks for your review, Im sorry the service was slow we try our best to service all guests as quickly and professionally as possible, however we have very few staff at the moment so I can only apologies. We were also preparing for the annual village fete "the duck race" that happens once a year where we have 150 villagers come to race plastic ducks down the river for the local school so our team was busy preparing for this. I am glad you liked the food and I am sorry you felt the drinks quality was poor I will discuss with the team what went wrong and look to improve in this area. look forward to welcoming you back soon. Had a pleasant Sunday lunch at the Bathurst Arms. The food was very good, could have been a bit hotter. The garden by the stream is very nice. A ten percent service charge is added to the bill.

A great dog friendly pub. Food was great, beer on draft. The staff are friendly and helpful

Dinner was very tasty, steak was cooked to perfection as was the Shepherds pie and chicken schnitzel we ordered. You can tell the food is freshly prepared with quality ingredients as the flavours were excellent. The dining area is quaint as you would expect in a nice old pub with very friendly and pleasant waitresses who were all very friendly. Lovely experience.

Shepherds pie and spicy chicken burger were good quality, not too large and well presented. Most people were very happy with their meal.

Lovely food in a lovely setting. The new owners have quickly done well in providing quality and a good choice of food and drink. Plenty of outdoor seating in the garden with a stream at the bottom and well worth a visit

This is a v nice pub with friendly and pleasant staff. There's a stream in the garden albeit next to a busy road. I really wanted to like it but it was massively let down by the food. Mains took over an hour to arrive and I'd rather mine hadn't come at all as I couldn't eat it. My friends' food wasn't much better. Good luck getting things back on track.

When we took over the Pub we had no head Chef and this would have been the reason for your poor experience. Very disappointing. We waiting 15 minutes at the bar for our drinks and it wasn’t busy. The chips were cold and soggy and we weren’t asked if we needed additional drinks, we had to get someone’s attention. They also added a 10% service charge which we were not made aware of.

We visited in April (I’m quite late reviewing) and I do believe there are different people running it since we visited which it desperately needed!! Such a shame as it’s a lovely location but when we visited the food was awful and of very cheap quality compared to the price we paid. Literally a burger and a handful of chips thrown on a plate. Not even an attempt to make it look nice. The service was good. Not a great experience but hopefully it’s much much better if there are new owners.
