Bernie’s Kitchen | Bar| Cinema is a boutique theatre experience in downtown Kelowna, BC. Our screen plays a mix of retro and new(ish)-release films, and yes, you can enjoy them with some top-notch food and drink!

We’re excited to bring the movies back to Bernard Ave., but we also love a great meal. The first floor and mezzanine at Bernie’s are where you’ll find artisan cocktails, one-of-a-kind wines, local craft beer, and truly tasty dishes. Our dinner menu is a uniquely Justin Best creation, with influences from all over the Spanish diaspora and beyond.

Head up one more flight of stairs from the restaurant to find a cinema like no other. Comfortable and stylish seating, food and beverage options outside the concession norm (don’t worry, we’ve got the classics too), and of course, motion pictures that are sure to entertain!

Headed to Bernie’s for their 5 course New Years Eve dinner, had Steph as our waitress (she was awesome) the food was amazing! Like always. Will be back

Our appies came out after our main meal and we had ordered our appies long before our food. When our sever came by she ignored this and stated “wow everything came so fast” which put an even worse taste in our mouth. Then the bill came and we were over charged for our food. The food was amazing but not the best service and even then when there was a chance to make it right, our waitress failed at that. Disappointed because this place has potential and we were willing to stay and pay for more drinks and dessert.

I'm very sorry to hear this, but equally grateful that you've taken the time to bring it to our attention. I'm going to speak with our GM to find out more about why this all occurred and we'll work to provide some extra coaching where it is needed on our team. This experience is certainly not the one we're striving to provide our guests, and I apologize that we fell short. If you're ever willing to give us another chance, I know we can do better, but I'm sorry we did not show you that this time around.

Great restaurant, friendly staff and the menu had lots to choose from. We were a group of 8 and unfortunately my request for dining up in the mezzanine area was not available due to staffing so it was on the louder side but the staff did their best and everyone in the group enjoyed the evening.

It was our first time and couldn’t be more pleased. Drinks and food on happy hour menu was exceptional! Service was amazing! So glad we have another great restaurant choice in Kelowna. We have not tried the cinema yet…that will be next!

Came for a ladies night dinner. The server was lovely and attentive. She even offered us samples of the wine before we committed and that was appreciated. I had the tuna crudo appetizer and it was tasty and a good portion. I then had the gnocchi for my main. The portion was good and presentation was nice but the dish was a bit over cooked in some spots and the gnocchi texture was off. Tasted more like boiled dry potatoes vs the gummy texture gnocchi is supposed to be. The sauce on it was minimal and underwhelming as well. Normally their food is amazing but it was just not a great option last night. Lastly, even though we were a good ten feet from the door, it was freezing cold. I wish more places used curtains to contain the cold air in the winter! I’ll be back again but just a mediocre experience last night.

Loved our dinner and movie. Prices for entrees are a bit high compared to other restaurants in this range but food and service was excellent

Really great place for a fun evening out. Perfect for a date night or girls night. Love the decor, food, drinks and service. Their happy hour menu is really yummy and good prices. We just did happy hour in the dining room this time but will definitely be back for a movie night. The only suggestion I would make to management is that the music didn’t match the vibe of the rest of the atmosphere, it was like classic rock playing in the background of this really gorgeous, glitzy room which just took me out of the experience a little bit. But a very minor detail, wouldn’t keep me from returning or recommending to others.

This was a new restaurant for us and we loved it. Quite a bit of seafood but other excellent and tasty choices if, that's not your preference. The experience was such a great part of the night and our hostess server was working under her incredible talent level because Stephanie was OUTSTANDING! The ambiance is fun and the restaurant clean. It seemed like we were close to the table next to us but we didn't feel that way once we sat down, we felt comfortable. Cocktails delicious in proper glassware, wine selections good and dessert was tasty too.
