The Bier Markt first opened its doors in Toronto in 1999 and has grown to 8 unique restaurants in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and St. John’s Newfoundland. At the Bier Markt we draw our inspiration from Northern Europe - its culture, its passion for food and of course it’s dedication to the beautiful art of brewing bier. The Bier Markt boasts a selection of over 150 biers from over 30 countries and local craft brews. The Bier Markt is not only infamous for the bier selection but for a “made from scratch” approach to cooking while perfectly pairing bier with some of Europe’s classic dishes and North American favourites. There’s never a dull moment at the The Bier Markt. Each restaurant has its own built in stage to feature great, local cover bands playing the best of the today’s and yesterday’s anthems. Menu wasn’t the same as online, service was rude but we didn’t really have to wait. Staff just seems very put out by everything. One bar stool had a broken leg and when we pointed it out to the waitress, she was super irritated. Just didn’t want anyone sitting down on it and falling lol. Oh well. Food was good though, servings were more than enough.

My team from razor creative and I had a fantastic time at the Beer Market! We enjoyed fresh salads, flavorful tuna, and classic fish and chips—all prepared to perfection. The drink selection was impressive, with an amazing variety of beers from around the world. Sampling different styles was a treat, and the staff’s knowledge helped us find some new favorites. The lively, relaxed atmosphere made it a great spot for a team night out. Highly recommend for both food and drinks!

Service was slow albeit friendly, one of the beers was off-tasting, and the food was reasonably good but nothing noteworthy- the schnitzel was disappointing as it should be a thin piece of pork, but the steak frites was nicely done and tender.

The selection of vegetarian options was someone limited. I ordered warm pretzels with dips, and the pretzel tasted stale.

We had a 5pm reservation. We arrived just before 5pm with over 1 hour and 45 minutes to spare to eat dinner (in order to make it to our nearby show). The restaurant was extremely understaffed. There was barely any toilet paper in the washroom which desperately needed servicing ( I went at the start and end of our reservation and nothing had been done). We ordered our drinks and an appetizer to begin with and everything seemed fine (they arrived quickly). Our waiter was kind/friendly but seemed very anxious and rushed. As we were finishing our appetizer we ordered our meal. This is when the problems started. At 6pm our waiter said that our meals would be out at any minute. At 6:10pm I questioned him and he said that he would get them. We all had our meals by 6:20pm (I asked to pay our bill right away because I was concerned about getting out by 6:45pm). My sister's order was wrong (they added chicken to her vegetarian nachos). We let our waiter know that she would eat around the chicken because we were in a rush (and we were not charged for the chicken which was acceptable). A waitress at a table near us dropped her heavy tray near me and glass flew everywhere including towards my food. I felt bad for her and I am sure that she was rushing. We had already paid for our meal and we were in a rush at this point. I did not finish my food. When we left the restaurant I let the girl a the front desk know that the toilets needed servicing and that overall we had a bad experience due to understaffing. It was not our waiters fault. Other than our initial drinks and our shared appetizer, our main meal were not something that we could enjoy.
