We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Feel the comforting rumble of trains passing overhead conjuring memories of some of our favourite haunts underneath the bridges in NYC - a place where, with the blinds rolled down and away from prying eyes, a decadent lunch can swiftly roll into dinner.

    Just wow! Literally the best lamb chops I’ve ever had in my life! We shared a 650g Rib steak as well, it was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. Really good selection of wines by the glass as well, we took 500ml of the Montepulciano, it was so good! The service was attentive and spot on, all round a really great visit and already booked to go back.

    This is my 3rd visit to Blacklock in 3 weeks, I took clients there for lunch. The staff member looking after our table was sloppy and careless, he poured the tap water over the table, then he spilt the steak sauce over me. A disaster. He did not apologies, he couldn't care less, he had no idea how to clean up the mess he made, wiping the gravy into my clothing. I was offered payment for my dry cleaning bill instead I asked for a discount on the bill which they did...thank you However I spent the rest of the day smelling like beef, it was also in my hair, I couldn't wear my coat because the steak sauce would have transferred to it so I froze the rest o the afternoon. A terrible experience due to the incompetence on of an individual who is oblivious to his own actions.

    Food was amazing, took my partner for her birthday and she loved it. Staff were very attentive and generous. The white chocolate cheese cake is a must.

    Service was amazing. Josh was wonderful. Knowledgeable, helpful, friendly. Food was not bad. Lamb skinny chop was good. Pork loin not great. Belly pork not bad. Sweet potato great. Broccoli salad nice. Steak sarnie had loads of mustard on the top half of the ciabata but was fine other than that. Mushroom toast and pigs head toast were yum. White chocolate cheesecake was naughty. Would go back to try other things from the menu. But mostly because Josh was fab, to be honest.

    This was the second time eating at Blacklock and I wasn’t disappointed. We came as a family to celebrate my brother’s birthday and we were treated so well. There was so much thought put into the evening, from a celebration banner hanging over the booth too a lovely birthday song and dessert presentation. As would be expected, food was delicious - flavourful and cooked brilliantly. I would highly recommend and look forward to being able to go back!
