Bon Ton Prime Rib, New Orleans' third-oldest restaurant, is where the spirit of old New Orleans meets the new.     Host was completely inept at her job and can’t answer questions. Made rude comments about patrons in front of them. The restaurant ran out of prime rib even though the place is called bon ton prime rib. Also ran out of ice cream. We had to ask four times to get bread. When our baked potatoe was served the waiter was too busy talking to patrons and putting all different fixings on the potato instead of asking what we liked and therefore put stuff on the potato that we don’t like and had to return it for a new one. The steak was ok, not horrible but not amazing. Onion rings and wedge were good. For the cost of the food, the service should match which it did not. The management should just be ashamed and /or embarrassed that is the product they are serving. If you like spending money and being annoyed definitely eat here.

    We went on Christmas Day and they obviously overbooked. We had a 45 minute wait for our4:00 reserved table and we had my 98 yr old father in law on a walker waiting in the middle of the aisle. There was no other place to wait. If you want a lively, festive, loud place to eat, the Bon Ton was the place. It’s definitely not like in the old days, but for the young, it’s probably the happening place. Once we were seated, the service and food were pretty good- the prime rib was good and our crabmeat au gratin was good. We had the ice cream parfaits and that was fun. Valet service was a wonderful perk.

    Best meal we have had in New Orleans in many years. Food was outstanding and our waiter and servers were absolutely the best. What a very special lunch on Christmas Day. Couldn’t have picked a better restaurant. Prime rib, crab cakes, onion rings,brussel sprouts, and dessert. 10 out of 10 rating for everything!

    Everything about our experience was very enjoyable. Although we enjoyed the music selections, we found the music to be a little loud.

    The food was delicious. Once we finally got seated, about 20 minutes after our reservation time, our server was nice. She seemed a little overwhelmed, but overall was good and very kind and we enjoyed her. The restaurant seemed to have a hard time turning over tables as all of the 830 and 8:45 PM reservations had to wait a long time for their tables. A little frustrating, but the food was delicious and made up for it all.

    Was not sure what to expect but our Christmas Eve dinner was fantastic. The prime rib was exceptional. The ambiance was very good with the playing of 70’s and 80’s rock. Service was good. Crawfish Mac and cheese and oyster appetizer very good. My son got the Cajun ribeye and it was good but a little too much rub/spice for me. It’s expensive but well worth the money. Will be back.

    Beautiful Resturant and Great Service with Antonine. Fabulous Waiter. Prime Rib was Undercooked n Salty and Rare. Filet was good but too Salty Loud music which was had hard to hear They still need to Iron out many things

    It is not often that I rate a venue five-star, but this one deserves it. It was our first visit and not our last. Even the valet was personable and with complementary parking what was there not to like. Their attention to detail was never more evident as we watched our server at another table polishing the flatware. We had ordered the aged prime rib and it was the best prime rib we had ever tasted. (Yes, medium rare!). It was accompanied by little au jus candle fed cups that kept the jus warm. (How's that for detail?) The onion rings were crispy (a bit salty but fine.) and delicious. We did suggest other vegetable choice besides the menu listed broccoli and brussel sprouts, such as a carrot or green bean dish. Had they been on the menu we would have ordered. Finally, though we are not big dessert eaters (it was Xmas eve, give us a break!) we ordered the lemon merangue pie and it only enhanced our great rating of this place. BTW, we made our vegetable suggestions to management and it was greeted with interest. Next time we'll try the steak!

    The service is outstanding here, especially if you request Claude as your waiter. They do need to SERIOUSLY upgrade the wine list, however.
