Murrieta’s Hospitality welcomes Borough Bar + Grill, inspired by the five boroughs of New York.

Borough Bar + Grill pays homage to the unique North American culinary tradition in a casual yet expressive space. The restaurant features a main dining room and lounge area with floating ceilings, intimate booths for a more private dining experience and a unique chef’s table for large parties.

The restaurant also includes a patisserie where guests are welcomed to grab sandwiches or a coffee for a walk through University District’s many parks and walkways.

1.5 -2 hours for each booking, please call if more time is needed.

Corporate chef Daniel Pizarro has developed a menu as diverse as the boroughs of New York.

Complete with retractable awning and fireplaces the south facing patio is the perfect spot to enjoy Calgary Summers.

All accessible from University Avenue with direct access to Central Commons Park, as well as convenient underground parking with immediate access from the plaza.

    Excellent food, great service. It was busy and food was a bit slow to come out but the team was aware of it and apologized before we had to say anything. We were heading to a show so couldn’t stay for dessert but we’ll be back!

    We’ve been here a number of times. It’s close to home. Has a wide choice of menu options. Food has always been good. It’s a firm favorite when we’re looking for better food in UDistrict. However, the food was particularly average this evening. Disappointing.

    Best gluten free calamari!! All the food was delicious. Had to wait quite a while but delicious once it arrived I will be back!

    The new menu is great. Along with some popular, tried and true dishes, there are new choices. The charred cauliflower dish is outstanding.

    We had a great waitress she was very attentive. The pepperoni pizza was delicious. We had a bottle of wine which was 50% off on Wednesdays. The leather chairs were very comfortable.

    When a restaurant charges this much for a lunch, the food, service and setting need to be above average. I suspect as one of the few places with table service in the University District, they have a captive audience and can therefore set their prices higher than the value they are otherwise offering. The food was average, it took too long to arrive after ordering, and we were put at a table to bake in the sun and had to move tables and chairs ourselves over the course of the lunch to keep out of the heat. We just didn't feel as looked after as we should for the price we paid.

    There were 4 of us. To be fair, two of us enjoyed our salmon and gnocchi. But our third received a cold steak, and sent it back after trying a bite. A new steak came back, we were told they redid the order, but the diner claims the same knife marks were visible and the steak was now overdone. Our fourth diner did not enjoy his chicken at all (not sure why, but I think he also found his meal cold and lukewarm). As for service, there wasn’t much of it. Our server was never around when we wanted him. It was also odd that he left no water on the table. Overall, I guess we were not impressed.
