   We were very disappointed with our experience, the restaurant was half empty and they sat us at a small 2 top table next to a wall crammed between 2 other tables. My seat was so close to the table behind me that all I could hear was their conversation, and every time a server walked through she bumped my chair. Our table was very tippy, when we said something to one of the hostesses walking around, she took a napkin and had a stand up and shoved it under the table rather than just switching our table. If the restaurant was full, it would be much more understanding however it was later in the evening and it was not full at all. Our server was great when she was at our table but she also had a large top table across the restaurant so she very rarely checked in on us. The food was excellent however because of the rest of our experience we decided to forego dessert and a second drink. We have always heard amazing things about Brick and Brine so we decided to try it on one of our very rare date nights, but after our experience we will not be returning.

   Absolutely love coming to Brick and Brine. My spouse and I celebrated our ten year anniversary, and everyone was so kind. They made conversation with us, got to know us, and specialized almost everything. Travis was INCREDIBLE, and he was genuinely interested in our day. We have been coming here for our anniversary for the past three years, and it has been and will continue to be our favorite tradition. I recommend this place to everyone for special events, one of my favorite homes away from home!

   Had dinner at Brick + Brine for my anniversary with my wife. We had a very pleasant evening. The service was excellent, the food was extremely well crafted. We got the Feta appetizer and it blew us away. Will definitely be dining here again.

   We were there for our 9th Anniversary and we had the best food, best service. Whitney was amazing and catered to every need we had. They went above and beyond with rose petals on the table, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne for dessert. We can't wait to go back!!

   Ate here 2x--Weds. and Sat. Weds. the food took forever to come (close to an hour for the mains)--the explanation: there was a large party monopolizing the staff--not my problem but it turned into my problem which it shouldn't have. We were comped a dessert. Sat. I ordered lamb medium well. It came rare. I sent it back, and it came back just right but everything else on the plate was cold. The server offered to take it back a second time, but I know a lost cause when I see one. The lamb was taken off the bill when I asked, but I shouldn't have had to ask. Staff should be more proactive, though the staff do try hard. Overall, the portions are way too big, or the plates are way too small. The entrees--duck/salmon one night/fried chicken/lamb the second) spill off the plate, and it is really difficult to eat the food. The amount of attendant food waste is concerning. I come to Kalamazoo once a year for a conference. I have been doing so since 1988 when the Radisson was a Hilton. Restaurants have come and gone--some decidedly better than others. The space occupied by Brick and Brine used to house a really wonderful place called Zazzios. Brick and Brine has a ways to go. I'll be back in Kalamazoo in a year. We'll see if Brick and Brine is still there. I would probably give it a try again, though if Burdick's were back open, I might eat there--though it is a totally different kind of place, but the food there, sports bar food, was tops.

   Fried chicken was juicy but lacked flavor and the French fries were soggy definitely a rip off for $34 a plate. Beef tips were tough and chewy and the noodles were stuck mashed together in a clump swimming in a bowl of oil we had to send back. The best thing was their in house made pickles.

    Our party of four was delighted with everything about Brick and Brine. The food was delicious, fresh, and not run-of-the-mill. Service was attentive without being intrusive.
