Enjoy a wonderful dining experience with family or friends at Carelli's. Owner Greg Carelli with help from his father Gene wanted to offer guests authentic Italian cuisine in a contemporary setting that features a large open flame fireplace, mosaic tiles, natural Birch woods, and warm lighting. An appetizer of fresh mozzarella and Beefsteak tomato caprese, lightly breaded calamari or lamb artichoke meatballs will please the palate at Carelli's. Guests can dine on baked jumbo shells stuffed with spinach and ricotta , the classic chicken parmigiana or shrimp scampi. Artisanal pizza, calzones, and paninis. Awsome Gluten-free options are also available.

Carelli's was the winner of the Daily Camera Reader's Choice 2002-2020 award for Best Italian Restaurant and ambiance. It also has won awards from the Denver Post and Boulder Weekly magazines. It has an awesome bar scene and an extensive wine list. Carelli's restaurant features daily fresh fish specials.

I would like to start by saying our waitress was wonderful. We had requested in our reservation to sit in front by the fire, when we got there we were lead threw the dining room to a back room that was a bit odd it was a leopard booth with dirty throw pillows. This back room looked nothing like the main dining room. Another strange thing was they brought bread to the table that we didn’t ask for but then charged us. I asked for a dirty martini which they charged for a martini then charged separately for each individual olive. I have never seen anything like it in my life. Three people three entrees and three drinks and our bill was $170. I don’t think I would go back.

One of Boulder's best dinner choices. Always a great experience. Service is excellent and the food is consisitently top quality. Great for a family event or an intimate dinner.

Generally an excellent experience. Great food, service. Only complaint is that with a full restaurant the noise level is excessive. Nonetheless, the best Italian restaurant in Boulder or Denver.

We were happy to be seated where we asked to be. Our appetizers were delicious: gluten-free calamari and (nothing special/typical) caprese. Cocktails were exactly as desired. Entrees were okay, diver scallops with g/f pasta and veal picatta with vegetables(instead of pasta). The veal was tough, the scallops were scant - low in quantity. The flavors were good. I would not order either entree again. We had the brulee for dessert, which was very good. Staff were attentive and generous, we never wanted for anything. Water was always full and refreshed, cocktails never waned. We appreciated the g/f menu and special order g/f bread. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and not loud, despite being packed. I would return but would focus on just appetizers, and maybe pasta and pizza. The meat and seafood entrees disappointed. Three diners, 5 cocktails, 2 pelligrino, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 1 dessert = over $300 bill including 20% tip.

Great service, very good food, scallops were a bit pricy given there were only 3 smaller ones in a large bowl of pasta.

Another fun and fabulous night at Carelli's on Friday to start off Carol's "birthday week" - when we arrived for our 7:15p reservation the place was buzzing happily. We shared the salmon carpaccio, a spinach salad and the pasta special. No room for the yummy Tiramisu this time unfortunately, but of course we will be back!
