Caruso's Grocery in Pike and Rose is modeled after the classic, Italian-American "red sauce" joint. You know the one: nostalgic photos on the walls , a killer chicken parmesan, Sinatra pouring through the speakers. If you’re looking for modern interpretations of a chef's take on the classics, you won’t find them here. A joint venture from Neighborhood Restaurant Group and Partner Matthew Adler.

Food was more mass produced tasting than I was expecting. Overall felt more chain restaurant than specialty. Had a very hard time with the cold (not room temperature) bread served at the table and the mushy pasta. Opposite of Al dente. Service was attentive. Disappointed as I'd been wanting to go here.

We had a great experience at Caruso’s. All our dishes were delicious. Our server, Rubel, was fantastic, attentive, and provided great recommendations. I also want to highlight the GM, Beau, who stopped by our table and had a great conversation with us. We have been to Caruso’s multiple times and as always, the food was excellent. Our experience with Rubel and Beau brought the service to the next level this visit and provided a very memorable experience.

A cozy dinner with Italian beer, cosmopolitans, apple salad, trout, eggplant Parmesan, and gnocchi. Good service and super good food!

We enjoyed our first dining experience at Caruso's, and it exceeded our expectations. The brunch was delicious, reasonably priced, and left us feeling very satisfied. Also, our server, Connie, was great.

We thought the food was just okay. The place was packed and the servers seemed overloaded.

Delicious Italian! We tried the Neapolitan ragu, the truffle Alfredo pasta, and the special short rib ragu with gnocchi. All were delicious....amazing! Service was solid. We were celebrating a birthday so they brought out one of the Nutella cannoli; it was small so the pastry/filling ratio was high, and filling was not that flavorful. We were considering ordering the dessert portion to share and then opted not after the complimentary taste. (BTW, we go to Boston North End frequently and know good cannoli!) We also tried the tomato gin dirty martini; none of the 3 we ordered seemed "dirty." We ordered sides of olive brine. Overall, we will definitely go again and take friends and family. Best Italian I've had in DMV thus far. YUM!

The food is good but it is similar to the same as a million other Italian restaurants in the DMV.

Food quality pretty good but had issues with timing of food and getting order wrong. One of the servers looked really stressed and was rude when we came in. Not sure would repeat if considering the cost and overall experience.
