CHARCUT is a proud female majority-owned and operated destination restaurant and bar from Calgary’s CHAR Hospitality Group – founded by Carrie Jackson and acclaimed chefs Connie DeSousa and John Jackson. Our menu draws inspiration from Italian and Portuguese traditions, a nod to Connie’s heritage, while celebrating seasonal, artisanal, and thoughtfully sourced ingredients. From our handmade pastas and vegetable-forward sharing plates to our house-cured meats, butcher cuts, and rotisserie prime rib of Alberta beef, we take a back to basics, back to flavour approach by evolving simple ingredients. CHARCUT offers a true neighbourhood restaurant experience, a place to gather and connect over great food, drinks, conversation, and company.

Excellent overall experience. We were a party of 8 celebrating a 20 year reunion of our training program and 2 birthdays. Service was fantastic, food was delicious and the staff were exceptionally accommodating. Fantastic night.

We had a fabulous experience! We came with our appetites and left feeling satisfied and excited about returning. We started with cocktails. My husband had the Old Fashioned and I had Chai Sour. Both were yummy. Then we shared the Crispy Pork Belly and it was a great start to an evening of eating. After talking to our server and following her guidance we shared the Gem Lettuce Caesar Salad and the Flaming Portuguese Sausage. The presentation was outstanding. The salad was one of the best we’ve had. The sausage came out flaming and it was so flavourful. Then we shared the Smoked Alberta Prime Rib. It was cooked to perfection. The accompanying potatoes and horseradish sauce were delicious. We look forward to returning and trying more delectable dishes. Highly recommend!!

Excellent Smokey tomato spread in focaccia!! Also tastey zucchini salad with pistachio and lemon and roast beef melted in your mouth. Tables a little close together but a great space. Recommend!

We had a great New Year’s Eve dinner at CHARCUT. The decor in the restaurant is great. The food was really good and we enjoyed our time.

Our server Carrington was absolutely amazing! So friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We loved our pizzas and appetizers were delicious! We will be back

Went here for our Anniversary and they made it super special! Delicious food, nice ambiance, super attentive staff. Definitely will come back for another special occasion!
