   service was slow, kitchen was even slower. once food arrived it was very delicious.

   Disappointing and Overpriced Experience at Choi’s My initial interaction with Choi’s staff was promising. The staff was remarkably attentive and accommodating when I made the reservation, setting high expectations for our dining experience. Sadly, the restaurant failed to follow through on this initial positive impression, ultimately leading to a disappointing evening. From the moment we were seated, the service was noticeably slow and lacked any real attentiveness. We waited an extended period to place our order, and throughout the meal, our attempts to get a server's attention for refills or additional requests felt like a chore. Unfortunately, the food quality did little to compensate for the lackluster service. Dishes were overpriced for the small portion and questionable quality. It became clear throughout our visit that there seemed to be a significant lack of planning and coordination among the staff. Empty plates lingered on our table, requests were forgotten, and there was a general sense of disorganization that permeated the entire dining experience. This experience was a significant disappointment and certainly not worth the price point.

   So bummed due to the terrible service we received. It was really busy and I get it. But 35 min for drinks, 40 min for cold appetizers and 1+ hr for hot appetizers was unacceptable. Even worse was the fact that the server was completely unapologetic and no manager came to the table. The food was delicious but I would not go back due to the fact that I pay for my babysitter on nights out and this ended up costing me a couple of more hrs of service just because dinner took so long.

   Service and food were phenomenal! Loved the Choi’s alcoholic beverage, Bao Taco, Choi’s Crispy Chicken and Skiitake Fettuccine. The sweet note on the table with a flower for my mom was above and beyond and so appreciated. One thing that was problematic was the parking. The garage is not easy to find as 12th avenue doesn’t appear to actually be a street you can drive on if you’re not familiar with the area. It is NOT the Park/12 lot across from the Petco Park Lexus lot; that is residential only parking and you will get stuck if you accidentally go down there (ask me how I know LOL). I recommend the restaurant sending VERY SPECIFIC directions to the lot from the two possible entries for future customers. Overall we had a wonderful time and will be back soon!

   We have been to Choi’s Korean at least a dozen times and have never been disappointed. We enjoy not only the meals but the entire experience. Always greeted with a warm welcome and a beautiful resservation card on our table with a little flower. The staff and the owner manage to provide a special kind of hospitality— the kindness and attention doesn’t feel forced, but truly sincere. It’s lovely! Then there is the food…. consistently very very good. We have tried many of the menu items and have our favorites. Oysters, Chili Shrimp appetizer, Eggplant Appetizer are ones we particularly enjoy. The Beef Short Ribs (Galbi Bowl) and the Muchroom Fettuccini are outstanding… but do try anything that catches your eye. Half the fun is exploring. Give Choi’s Korean a try, You will be glad you did.

   We took a romantic getaway to celebrate our upcoming 30th anniversary in San Diego...and I thought this modern fusion Korean restaurant looked like a good place to start! As anticipated, the place was posh...and quite spacious, including their lofty bar area. I was grateful to see that they greeted us with this celebratory bubbly drinks for starters. Nice! In addition, we ordered beer and cocktails. I can't remember the name, but mine had a sweet chocolate taste. We started by sharing these Bulgogi Bao Tacos...then my husband had this Korean Chicken dish, and I had their Galbi Stone Bowl. All were really good...but my favorite was the amazing Bao Tacos. I wished I ordered 2-3 of those! For desserts, we shared this Hotteok with Ice Cream and this other fruity brulee-type dish. We agreed that Hotteok was the winner of the two. Delish! We both truly enjoyed this modern Korean fusion dining experience...and hope to revisit on our future trips back to San Diego.

   Dylan was an outstanding waiter and made our night an incredible and unforgettable one. Truly the first real dining experience we have ever been apart of and will be coming back time and time again. Thank you to everyone on the staff for making it such a special day.

   Food and service were great. Big shout out to General Manager Adam for accommodating my large party tonight and making it memorable. We will definitely come back.

    It is a beautiful restaurant and the service was amazing, but unfortunately, the food still short. We had their pork belly bao taco, and it was really salty.  We also had their bulbulgi and it was also too salty.  hopefully they will make adjustments.
