   This used to be a great restaurant and now I would say it's just "fine". I'm not sure I'd go back. The service was okay (people were nice but not great at the service part), the tables are WAY too close to each other and you're basically eating with your neighbors, the food is good enough but not like it used to be, and they add on an additional "DFW" charge ("Denver Fair Wage") to cover the increase in minimum wage here in Denver. This isn't something Denver makes them do at all, even though the verbiage makes it sound that way (which feels deceitful) and it's not clearly disclosed in advance that it will be added to the bill, if at all as I did not see it even though we looked at the menu for a while.

We are sorry to hear that the services from our staff did not meet your expectations, as we consistently work with our team to continuously improve our knowledge and service capabilities every day. Regarding the DFW, we do have it clearly placed at the bottom of all of our dinner menus to indicate the reasoning for this fee. DFW, or "Denver Fair Wage" fee, is a collective 6% fee added to your overall bill that is incorporated to help us cover continued rising minimum wages, cost of products, etc. We implement this one time fee on your bill so that it allows us to not increase prices on every dish or beverage consumed, as we understand the hardship of modern dining experiences.    Food was just ok. Nothing special. Apps were not very good - Main dish ( beef stir fries) was not good . Sauce was heavy a sticky . Service slow and unattended. Second visit , first was ok last year. This visit was expensive and disappointing.

   Stunning food overshadowed by beverage mismanagement As someone who dines out frequently and values both culinary execution and the experience surrounding it, my recent visit to ChoLon’s Sloan’s Lake location left me feeling torn. The kitchen is clearly operating at a high level — the food was, without exaggeration, excellent. However, the beverage service and staff wine knowledge were so lacking that they nearly derailed an otherwise impressive meal. Let’s start with the highlights: the food was vibrant, creative, and expertly executed. The French onion soup dumplings lived up to their cult status, the pork belly bao hit all the right notes, and the dually prepared potstickers with the accompanying mustard sauce had a beautiful textural contrast with balanced heat. This is a kitchen that knows exactly what it’s doing. Unfortunately, the beverage program is a Train Wreck. It started when we ordered one of ChoLon’s signature cocktails, the Geisha Whisper, which was unavailable because they didn’t have the necessary ingredients. At a restaurant where cocktails are part of the experience, this is baffling. After reviewing the wine list, we asked the server for some context or recommendations. We were baffled when she suggested two grocery store wines. Finally, we selected a French Chardonnay that was noted as available by the bottle. The server confirmed that three bottles were in stock. Twenty minutes later — after disappearing to "track it down" — she returned to tell us none could be located. Of course, she apologized profusely. We pivoted to ordering a glass of wine instead. Again, out of stock. Bottom line: The food at Sloan’s Lake ChoLon is deserving of praise — inventive and consistently satisfying. However, until they invest in a comprehensive beverage program that includes proper staff training, inventory management, and elevates the overall program oversight to the same standard, diners will continue to leave feeling frustrated by the imbalance.

   Service was excellent. They change their menu seasonally and the new one has very few gluten free options. It’s not hard to offer tamarind in place of Soy Sauce, kind of pathetic.

   Great spot, we were in town for a work conference and were looking for a low-key place to eat. Great vibe, food was yummy, and the staff was super friendly.

   Asked to be seated closer to a window but section was closed… mind you it’s only a few steps from the area we were sat. Timing was horrible. Drinks arrived after apps. Every item came separately and my partner had to eat her app and entree before me. I was told by management that that’s how they serve (and that’s the way it’s done) Management was defensive at first but did not charge for the salad. (Thank you but I really would have preferred to eat while my companion ate and while I can understand sharing the appetizers and possibly staggering them, I don’t understand why when 2 entrees/large dish items are ordered and one person doesn’t want the item the other person ordered, such as the other item being spicy, why they will not serve the meals at the same time . Maybe they should ask when the customer wants their food delivered. It seems the experience is for the convenience of the restaurant, not the convenience of the guest. Food was good but even if we were sharing our entree(called a large plate) we still would want both meals to be delivered at the same time . For me it seems that the kitchen isn’t skilled or care enough to delay cooking items that cook fast so that both items can be served together. We went there to eat together not separately so we will not be back…

   First time and we had a great experience. We enjoyed the Japanese liquor drinks and had the perfect variety and quantity of food. Tasty sauces enhanced the dishes from Malaysian noodles with pork belly to brussel sprouts with rice puffs to simple bok choy. We will be back!

    We came here for the happy hour and were delighted with the experience! HH drink prices were great and everything we got from the HH dim sum menu was incredible - our favorites being the French Onion Soup Dumplings and the Beef Skewers. Also really enjoyed the Salt & Pepper Calamari, which was so tender and the best calamari I’ve ever had. We will definitely be back!!
