CHOP was created for people who love sharing, connecting and everything steak. We are proud to offer a menu that shares our commitment to sustainable beef sourcing, serving high-quality cuts of 100% Canadian beef. It isn’t just the meat that’s special – it’s also how we cook it. Our Montague broiler cooks at up to 1800 °F, giving a beautiful crust and flavour to every steak! We slow roast our prime rib in a humidity-controlled oven, keeping it mouth-watering and tender. And we put this level of care into each of our hand-crafted drinks, and from-scratch dishes, including plant-based and seafood options, with something for everyone to enjoy. We were welcomed at the door and they organized a table with chairs for us. Our server Francis was excellent. The food was delicious

Our waitress tried her best (I think) but the meal experience was terrible, with no apologies or anything done to rectify our horrible dining experience. I've been coming to Chop for at least 7 years and I have never had a meal like this at this location. For a ~$350 meal, we expected a lot more: 1. Appetizers. The Chili Garlic Shrimp and Escargot Stuffed Mushrooms were excellent. Kudos to the cook(s)/chef(s) who made our starters. Our sides were excellent too. 2. NY Striploin w/ peppercorn sauce - this was ordered medium well and came out rare/blue. It was sent back after the waitress reappeared after 15-20 minutes, then came back burnt and overcooked. Since the duration of the meal was over two hours, this entree was finally eaten, although rather reluctantly. 3. Top sirloin - this was also ordered medium well and came out rare/blue. After struggling with the meal and not wanting to send another steak back to the kitchen, the meal sat there for the duration of our reservation. No attempt to rectify the situation was offered nor was another entree offered by our server. The person who order the meal left hungry, as a result. 4. Ribeye - ordered medium rare and came out as such. It was the only steak that came out as ordered. 5. Chop burger - excellent burger overall 6. Kids' meals - the chicken fingers and burger were fine, however, we were not offered a drink with the kids' meals and the ice cream was melted/liquified and very underwhelming. Needless to say, the kids ate it (as you'd expect), yet as the person paying for these meals, this also contributed to the overall sub-par experience. 7. Final bill - they did not honour our Opentable dining cheque. This wasn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but to not honour a cheque from their business partner, not offer any type of compensation/resolution for the sub-par meals, and to disappear while another waiter charged my card, is not what I expect from an establishment such as Chop. Extremely disappointed.

Premium steak prices for average at best steak. I had a filet, wife had a strip and we both had the same impression.

I took my friend from Naniamo for dinner. She ordered the Prime Rib dinner and it arrived cold and had to go back… it was embarrassing! I’ve been telling her what a great restaurant it was because I go there all the time!
