    Was hoping for way more. Had to send back multiple dishes because they were cold. How do you send out one of your most expensive entrees (the duck) ice cold? You could tell a lot of the apps like the deviled eggs were premade. The white parts were freezing indicating they have been sitting in the fridge for a while. The Gruyère bites had no dough inside and were cold it, was essentially eating an inflated softer goldfish snack. Do not accept a table upstairs, they literally forget about you. Waitress had to be reminded to give us bread and some of our drinks multiple times. My steak was fine, but you could get way better ones all around downtown. Also had a 7:45 reservation, had to wait 20 mins to get seated and we didn’t leave until 10:20PM. Just everything took so long and was cold. A shame really.

    Food was extremely average. Bread, fries and Mac & cheese were the highlight. Flank steak was very tough and not cooked to requested temperatures. Onion soup had no flavor. Coq Au Vin had an overwhelming bacon/smoked flavor. Service was slow and not attentive for the price. Had to call over a manager to pay our bill as our server was “busy” talking to a friend at the bar. I doubt we will be going back. Way over rated and over priced for the food/service.

    We had dessert and wine - both very good. We were upstairs which was quaint and enjoyable. The noise coming up from bar was very loud but it was Friday night around 10 pm so perhaps to be expected

    Second time dining at Chouette as we really wanted to like it. It’s just not great—they have a lot of things that are very good, but it never really comes together.

    Our first visit was wonderful. The food was delicious. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is due to our server and food runners lack of knowledge on some of the dishes and our dinners were very delayed. Our server was very pleasant, just some additional training on ingredients. Already booked for next week!

    Second time did not meet up with our first experience there. The waitress makes all of the difference.

    Hostess did not great us upon arrival. There were three tables. Three servers. After we were seated, we waited endlessly for a server to arrive at the table. We were repeatedly left without water wondering where any server was. Once our check was dropped off, it was never picked up. My husband had to track our server down to pay. Abysmal. Also, there were no towels in the bathroom to dry hands on. The chefs do their job, but front of house are unengaged and lazy.

    Food and ambience were lovely albeit the music was too loud in the beginning. MR filet mignon overcooked, but they did remake a perfectly done one, just sadly came when the rest of the table had finished their entrees. I think I server was too challenged working both floors. Left happy despite the unfriendly welcome of the hostess who insisted there was no way I had been confirmed a table upstairs for Christmas Eve, since they only seat first come. Oddly I did have a phone conversation before the restaurant advertised for the holiday season, but oh well. Bon Appetit .
