Located in the heart of the the Most Beautiful Square in Texas, City Post Chophouse began its story as a post office in the 1930s, during the Great Depression and Prohibition. Nearly a century later, the beautifully renovated historic building now offers an elevated dining experience, live music and private events.

Executive Chef Adrian Corkill has curated a stand-out menu, featuring fine cuts and chops of beef, lamb, and pork, as well as fresh seafood and decadent side dishes served family style, along with unique handcrafted cocktails. Accommodations for vegetarian, pescatarian, and gluten-free diets are readily available. Our wine selection includes something for everyone, with a variety of by-the-glass options.

Reservations can be made for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch in our main dining room, where “Texas formal” attire is appropriate. Walk-ins are welcome in our oyster bar, where our full menu is available with a more relaxed dress code.

    Great experience! Went there for our anniversary and the staff is definitely the highlight. Wife ordered the lobster and it came out a little chewy…the staff immediately corrected it. They offered her something while she waited a very short period of time for them to cook another one and the replacement dish was perfect! We all know that things happen and the way they handled it was the best I have seen! Going back and will recommend to anyone that asks.

    Wonderful dinner experience...the bone-in ribeye is one of the best steaks I have ever had!! I would order that every time. The scallops were delicious, too. We loved our after-dinner drinks in the speakeasy downstairs!! Luke, the bartender, was amazing. He was so personable, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We cannot wait to come back very soon!!! :)

    Consistently exceptional. Today friends joined us for lunch. All dishes were prepared to perfection. From the roasted chicken (with the scrumptious sweet & spicy orange glaze), to the precisely grilled coulotte steak topped with chimichurri to the generous lobster mac and cheese- we were all happy diners!!

    4 of us went for lunch and all loved it. The tuna poke was delicious and a generous portion. The wedge salad was the best I've ever had and is plenty for 2 people. The lobster roll was wonderful too. The complimentary bread and butter was a bonus. My husband didn't like the wine he first ordered so the sommelier came, talked to him and brought him a wonderful wine that we both enjoyed. We were celebrating our anniversary and our friends were celebrating a birthday. We got a Happy Anniversary and A Happy Birthday signed by the staff. We appreciated the special gesture. I highly recommend City Post. A little pricey but worth it.

    This was an experience beyond expectations. September, our sommelier picked the best wine. Our waiter, Graham was always available, yet gave us time to relax, enjoy our wine and appetizer. Everyone at this restaurant helps. After dinner we were escorted to the lovely Brass Peacock. Again, treated like we were the only one’s there. Highly recommend this place.
