Located in a former auto shop in the vibrant Montrose neighborhood near The Menil Collection and Museum District, Clark’s Houston is the third and largest location of our popular neighborhood oyster bar and seafood restaurant. Opened in Fall 2023, Clark’s features freshly shucked oysters, crudo, lobster roll, daily fish specials, caviar and blini, bowls of chowder and cioppino as well as a much-loved burger and shoestring fries.

The restaurant specializes in martinis and signature cocktails as well as an extensive Champagne and wine list. The design is light, bright, and airy with nautically-themed touches including a centerpiece fish tank, teak wood furniture, bright white walls, and blue and turquoise tones.

In addition to a marble-topped oyster bar and dining room, there’s a large, covered patio for prime people watching and oyster slurping. Clark’s Houston also offers a semi-private dining room for special occasions and events.

The octopus and crab cakes were excellent, along with the key lime pie. The oysters were bland.

Wonderful food and service! We had the wedge salad (big enough to share), the grilled skate and the fried shrimp, and a side of grits. Everything was delicious. The shrimp were large and nicely fried, the skate was something we hadn’t had before but decided to try based on server’s recommendation. Our server Brian was excellent- knowledgeable about the menu, gave suggestions when asked, checked on us often and was friendly. We will definitely be back!

Everything was wonderful. Perhaps a bit pricey and a bit noisy but overall fantastic. The Snapper was amazing.

What started as a happy hour for four turned into a spontaneous dinner for two friends at the bar—and we couldn’t have asked for a better first experience at Clark’s Oyster Bar. Ruiz was incredibly attentive, offering spot-on recommendations and top-notch service. As the dinner rush picked up, Sarah joined in seamlessly, and the service never missed a beat. Susan, the manager, was always nearby, keeping a watchful eye to ensure both guests and staff were well taken care of. Truly spectacular service all around. We will absolutely be back!

Everything was wonderful but we had to sit outside as there is no seating for parties of 5 or more. Even with the fans, which did help quite a bit, it was very hot a detracted from our experience.
