It does get crowded at the front of the restaurant with both people waiting for tables as well as people picking up orders. Once you're seated, expect great service (Jess2065 was outstanding, knowledgeable and so personable), food and drinks. The drinks are great, but strong. I've learned the hard way to stick to ONE. My friend and I split a small Caesar salad and a pizza we created. I could have made a meal on the incredible croutons on the salad. We got a pizza with Italian sausage, basil and mushroom with a ranch swirl over the marinara. 10 out of 10!!!

We are loyal customers of DL Mack’s and have been going to both the Hillcrest and Royal locations since they opened. Last night we went to the Hillcrest location and will not be coming back. The service was unacceptable. I had to leave my table to find out where our pizzas were and moments later one arrived. When the one pizza arrived, I asked for crushed red pepper and parmesan from our waitress, neither arrived. Ten minutes later the other pizza arrived by a server who I also asked for crushed red pepper and parmesan, neither arrived. It is worth noting that both pizzas were room temperature (clearly, they had been sitting in the kitchen). Our waitress never came back to check on us after our meal arrived or asked if we wanted another drink. When she finally came back to check on us, I asked for the bill and to go boxes. We ended up taking our pizzas home and heated them up in our oven to finish our meal. Very disappointing.

Food was very good! Salmon appetizer, hot honey pizza and chicken Parmesan. There was a hair in the chicken entree but the manager quickly addressed and brought a new one and took care of a few items on the bill.

Despite the crowd at a busy hour, our reservations were honored within 10 minutes. Service was prompt and friendly. The crowd was heavily engaged. Pizza was thin-crust and excellent! The Caesar salad was very good but should have had more of the unique cornbread croutons. Don't go without reservations.

We love DL Mack's! From the minute we walked in it feels like home. The hostess staff is polite, friendly and accommodating. We went during peak dinner hours and they never missed a beat. A big shout out to our server Preston, very attentive, informed us of the new menu items and checked on us frequently/as needed. Delicious food! Great offerings! We'll definitely be back!!!

I was so excited to try DL Mack's after hearing great things about the food (chicken tenders), as I'm a fan of Hudson House and Brentwood. But...this was a disappointing experience. If you think the burger will be similar to Hudson House, it's not. Fries (good enough) are a $3 add-on. I was very regretful that I didn't order chicken or one of the salads. The star was the spinach and artichoke dip - which was very good! Unfortunately our waiter kept trying to take it from the table before we were finished with it (ample portion!) - and the same waiter had to be flagged down for a refill of water glasses as well as iced tea. For DL Mack's prices, not acceptable. I know DL Mack's has many fans, so maybe I should have tried the pizza. But for the $100+ that we paid for three burgers, spinach and artichoke dip and an iced tea, at lunch, the service should have lived up to the expenditure.
