Welcome to Dean Martin's Lanning's, a fine dining steak & seafood experience. We offer five star, tuxedo dinner service & have a lounge area that features specialty cocktails, live music, and more. Our wine menu was awarded the Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator in 2022, and we were voted locally as the best Fine Dining, Steak, Seafood, and more in Akron, Ohio. Helmed by a spectacular view of Yellow Creek, our restaurant offers a truly unique take on what fine dining means today. Why go downtown when you can stay in town?

My girlfriend and I went out for our anniversary. We chose this restaurant because it had recently been named “the best steakhouse in the greater Cleveland area”. My girlfriend and I have been to many of the steakhouses throughout northeast Ohio but not this one so we decided to give it a try. Our waitress was great and we had no complaints there. The atmosphere was old school but nice. We got sat next to the window so we could see the river next to the building. The drinks were fantastic. Bread service was excellent. The stone crab special was over priced in my opinion but still, it was good. Then the steaks came. From looking at it before we cut in, we were excited. They looked amazing. I cut into my bone-in ribeye and saw what I posted. It was not medium rare like how I asked, it was basically raw. My girlfriend who ordered the filet orders medium and it was basically well done. Our waitress came over and asked how everything was. I had not had a bite because of the rawness of my steak. My girlfriend had one bite of her steak and was incredibly disappointed in how it was cooked and how dry it was. Our waitress took them both back and said they will re-cook them. The manager then comes back over with my girlfriends steak to show us the filet, saying “what was the issue with the filet”. We stated we thought it was over cooked for medium and the manager replied with “this is our medium”. While the picture is not the greatest, I will say there was a little pink in the dead center of the steak but not medium. At this point I was extremely upset that the manager would come back with the steak and try to argue with the customer. I asked if we could just pay for our appetizers and drinks and leave. The manager then said “we can warm yours up to temp and remake the filet”. I did not want that after the steak being brought back being told it was medium. The manager then said “we can only comp you for one of the steaks”. I’m not sure why that is if we did not even eat them.

By far the best experience of my life. The staff was exceptional. They were very attentive and the food was a whole experience by itself. Although the steak was well done, it was extremely tender. The pork roast was so flavorful, they both were the best either of us have experience. Yes, better than Morton’s and the Marbleroom. Although, the customer service at the Marbleroom is amazing! Please note the dress code, it is an expectation and for what they offer, it shouldn’t be anything less! This my new favorite place!

It was very good. First time and felt welcomed. I enjoyed the our waiter, Very friendly and educated on the service and menu. My Bestfriend enjoyed his birthday dinner. Food & drinks were great; Definitely will return to try again.

We visited this restaurant recently and was somewhat disappointed. The salad wasn’t as fresh as I expected—it seemed a bit wilted and not as crisp as it should’ve been. The meat also didn’t meet my expectations; it lacked flavor and was on the tougher side. The atmosphere and service were so nice, but overall, the food didn’t really stand out. It’s an okay place, but I was hoping for more.
