We love the Deane House. We do the tasting menu every Christmas. This year it fell a little flat. There were big gaps between servings (roughly 30 minutes). But when we got the servings, the explanation of what it was was very rushed. She was practically walking away as she was speaking. We often had empty glasses too. I felt like where we were sat we were kind of forgotten about. We also didn’t really enjoy the first couple of courses. Considering the cost, I felt that cheap meat was used and was dry. We also felt like we could recreate a lot of it at home. The last dish (the tenderloin) was delicious. But we were full by time it came. We requested to take it home but we never got it back. Finally, and this was a little beyond their control, the table in front of us was very loud. They were likely drinking before arriving. I couldn’t really hear my partner above their laughing. Putting them in a more private space so that we could enjoy our time together would have been nice. Overall, this experience really fell flat.

Our family did the tasting menu for 4 at the Deane House this evening. Wonderful food, good portions, great wine pairings, and really lovely service. Thank you making this the best Boxing Day meal ever!

I have been here many times and never have had a bad experience. The service, food and atmosphere are top notch. Thank you to the Deane house for another amazing evening.
