Desi Contemporary Indian Casual is a modern casual Indian restaurant in Bay Area featuring Cal Indian Food. Our flavors are firmly rooted in Indian food with influences from around the world, resulting in adventurous, delicious dishes. We believe that the world's cuisines are more similar than different, and celebrate how various signature dishes, worlds apart, have striking similarities. We started in December 2019 in San Jose, California. Our primary location is in Campbell between Pruneyard restaurants and Downtown Campbell, California. Restaurant was closed. Not sure who shall be responsible, OT or restaurant yo ensure current status is present at open table. We booked and drove 25 miles down for dinner and were super disappointed to find that restaurant was closed.

Had reservations for birthday lunch business was closed with no prior warning. Reservation was confirmed the day before with no warning about closure. Arrived with wife and daughter for birthday lunch to paper note saying temporarily closed. Unacceptable lack of communication!

Rather unique Indian fusion .interesting food combinations lots of choices. Great Nan. They need some more work as dishes didn't have all the ingredients listed. Generous wine pours. Good prices. Helpful and kind staff. . Outside dining is on the street side . Not very inviting. Inside is very clean and spacious with a bar. I say it's worth a try for something different

When this restaurant opened, it was excellent: Great innovative food, friendly knowledgable service, and a great vibe. Over the past year though it's really gone downhill: The menu has not been refreshed, and the service is atrocious - waitstaff who have no idea how to work in a restaurant (how to take food order, confirm food order, present dishes, clear used dishes, etc.). The vibe changed from a hip place to be in the evening to a boring restaurant. There's no shortage of Indian restaurants in the South Bay - for the price point, one can do better.

We went for drinks and dinner on a Wednesday night. The place was empty. The drinks and the food were excellent. They have very interesting and tasty dishes, both small and large plates. We had a chicken tiki masala, Butter chicken tacos, and samosas with a slightly spicy sauce and chickpeas. It was delicious. We had a pleasant quiet evening.

This is a unique indian food experience . There is fusion of mexican italian with Indian spices . The menu is complicated . What is Gabru ? For example? I had the blackened chicken breast in a nice red sauce with saffron rice and various pickles . The chicken was dry and a bit leathery . The rice must have been old cause it was crispy and dry the food was luke warm . The over all taste and flavors were good The chicken tacos were very nice . This is why i gave them three stars The paneer dish was not that great but the taste is good . It was eerily quiet . We were the only people for 2 hours . Does not bode well for the future. The chairs were those you have a school class . It was a cross between a cafeteria and a restaurant . The service was nice I wish them well

The food was amazing and had great presentation! Our waitress was super helpful and the bartender passionate about his trade. Loved his old fashion a must try! We had a large group and they accommodated us big time!

We’ll be back again and again. Great space, gracious folks, delish food. We choose and share two or three smaller plates. Had the Kathi rolls last night with lamb. Superb!!! And get the fries with that because they are amazing!! Also had tandoori chicken which came with 2 dipping sauces. The green one is mint and it’s not hot but it’s wonderfully complex!
