Welcome to Donovans - our ‘house on the beach’ and home we love to share. Donovans is located on the St.Kilda beach front offering guests a memorable dining experience in Melbourne. With a bay side view, beautiful Mediterranean inspired food and the special relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant, Donovans is where you will feel at home.

Donovans’ exciting menu has been developed our intimate knowledge of modern Mediterranean cooking. The menu is extensive with a modern mix of favourite dishes emphasising the best local produce. Donovans also offers an extensive wine list of Australian and imported wines and an eclectic mix of cocktails.

    Great dining experience, great location on St.Kilda beach, iconic restaurant, great service, very friendly and accommodating staff. The Menu choices, food and presentation is fantastic. Highly recommended 👍👍👍

    Our food was on the whole exceptionally good although both our salads had to go back - the replacements were very good though Our major complaint was being asked to vacate our table by 2:30 No mention of this made when we booked and received our confirmation and when we advised this were told we should have been informed As we lost time waiting for replacement salads and finding a wine we had ordered was not in stock - at least 15 minutes this vacating of table aspect was disappointing as it all became a bit rushed towards the end of the meal, and what should have been a terrific meal occasion was slightly soured You staff were great , the setting is great, most of the food also but at 250 per head - not quite there

    Great selection and choices on the menu. Our waitress was very willing to discuss and provide advice on content and portion sizes. She was very attentive and interested in us but did not intrude unneccessarily. We spent 3 hours enjoying a lovely long lazy lunch, with bottle of pink bubbles. The sticky date souffle was well worth the wait (and allowed time for our mains to settle). I recommend pairing this with a Spanish sherry. A charmingly delightful afternoon. I will be back!

    The food was as lovely as always. However, with the two sittings our wait staff were extremely rushed, which made us feel like we were being rushed. We ordered nice wine which our server was pouring out into our already half full glasses at every opportunity. There was no relaxed vibe, it was about getting us fed, filled up with wine and out of there in the allocated time. Where has the joy of dining with friends gone? It seemed silly as there were tables which remained empty for the entire duration of the second sitting. It would have been more pleasant to have been seated at one of these vacant tables for the remainder of the our evening. It’s a shame and makes this venue less appealing.

    Excellent food and service. We had the chicken pie followed by Tarte Tatin, both were delicious and faultless. The restaurant filled up very quickly at 6pm so bookings are highly recommended.

    Always a special experience. An exceptional dining experience. Where our table was located however was a bit too warm as it was against the window.

    Always a very a wonderful experience. The service , food and beverages were outstanding and matched by the seaside setting.
