The music was way too loud. The service was slow as ever but the food and drinks are good!

We anticipated dinner at Doves early in the Thanksgiving week knowing friends and family would be in town. Our reservation was for 7 people. Upon arrival, the restaurant was quiet with only three other parties dining. There were plenty of staff standing around with the night being slow. Our server was kind and knew the menu fairly well to provide her recommendations. Service was very slow, and despite it being a quiet night and several workers standing around, our waitress appeared to be the only one “working” outside of delivering food. One server for the whole restaurant?? It took several minutes to make drink orders and the bar was out of multiple ingredients to make drinks. Drinks were delivered one at a time over 20 minutes. Appetizers were flavorful and we went with the servers recommendations. Etouffee Woncho, Smokehouse ribs, wings, pagoda shrimp. Dinner service was also very slow. Another round of drinks were ordered in which a couple of the drinks were made incorrectly. More waiting. Nearly 30 minutes after dinner was ordered our waitress returned to notify us that two of the orders off the menu were not available. We were also notified that Snapper is not served during the week. We waited roughly 50 minutes for dinner, dinner was not delivered all at once. Some waited longer. Food for the 7 of us was overall good. Orange chicken and the fried rice were just ok. Flavor was good, but rice in both dishes tasted stale with crunchy pieces throughout. The complimentary peach pastry was a nice touch for the birthday. Music playlist was great - but far too loud for having only a few tables dining. It was difficult to have conversations let alone take food orders.

Overall the experience was great. I was a bit disappointed that, two days prior to Thanksgiving, we were told they didn’t have the ingredients for the drink we ordered, there were no collard greens (should be a staple) and the desserts were limited. The server we had was spectacular and definitely represented your brand well. The place looked beautiful but I’d note the music was quite loud and for the price point I expected more of a jazz type feel as opposed to really loud hiphop. Overall it was a good experience and we will visit again.

At first, I was really looking forward to our brunch gathering at Doves. When we arrived, the hostess was very pleasant and friendly and greeted us with conservation. When escorted to our table, which was located close to the bathroom and right next to the music area where there was a gentleman playing a saxophone, the only thing was that we couldn't hear ourselves talk, lol .....so through out the whole timr we were basically talking really loud we asked if he can turn down the music and play away from the table which he did. The wait person was very engaging and nice, but the meal took a very long time to come out and when it did, it came out not all together as a group, which I couldn't understand it wasn't very busy. The wait person apologized, and eventually, the rest of the meal came out. By that time, we were already ready to leave. Overall, the experience was not what I expected!!!!! The food and atmosphere were POOR. We will not be returning anytime soon.

Made reservations for my friend and I for her birthday for a Saturday night, wanted to try a place we’ve never been. My friend was not provided any information on where we were going as it was a surprise. I did not feel the need to have to tell her anything as our attire is NEVER an issue. We arrived for our reservation, my friend had a trucker/snapback on with her fit due to a hair crisis, upon check in we were told we would not be able to dine because of the “no baseball cap” policy. We gave a little pushback but were still told no, “Respect”, so we proceeded to leave. As we went outside to leave, the nice doorman had a conversation with us, asked a few questions ; a courtesy we were not given at the entrance counter. He made a phone call to the owner, shared the information - he was able to observe that my friend was not dressed out of their dress code and her hat was not a “baseball cap”, he acknowledged it was her BIRTHDAY and allowed her to dine. THANK YOU! We were seated immediately, it was busy so it took a while for our server to come greet us - he was waiting many tables and wearing many hats that evening. He was very personable and attentive despite being spread thin. We ordered drinks and an appetizer prior to our main course. Food didn’t take extremely long to come out, it was hot and fresh. The dishes were yummy and the drinks (our waiter was also our bartender) were on point. The ambiance was nice, there was one “dove” dancing throughout our time there, she was cute. I did read Saturday nights were a bit of a struggle, hopeful they’ll continue to improve because it’s a really cute place w/ a good vibe and cuisine. The staff … ok now, the policy - understandable but woman to woman, baby if we had to throw a trucker on with a cute fit BFFR 🤣. Will definitely give it another go!

Service was top notch with tentative hostess and waitress. Seated upon arrival per reservations made. The menu is exquisite making difficult to decide. With the server’s recommendations we were very please with our selections made. Everything was cooked to perfection, we had the Salmon and Redfish dishes, shrimp appetizers and calamari. I also have a new favorite drink the “Pear Martini”

Overall I love the food, the waiter was nice. The negative side was service was slow. The young man had about 7 tables to wait on upstairs and downstairs. I guess they need more wait staff. And being such a classy establishment, you shouldn’t have to wait on your water to be refilled. I love the he place just need to work on getting more help. I will go back❤️

Celebrating my two yrs anniversary here was amazing. Very first time here and won’t be the last. Our service was fantastic she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Going on a Wednesday night was very intimate atmosphere, loved it!!
