Down South CaJJun Eats was founded by twin brothers Jahmaal and Jermaine Dumes in the Spring of 2017. While Studying at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX they decided to take a leap of faith. Originally from Beaumont, TX, they felt a tremendous part of their lives was missing in Austin. And that was Crawfish!!

Coming from a family of cooks, they’ve always dreamed of starting a restaurant in their home state. With the help and support of family and friends, they were able to make this dream come alive.

We take pride in our authentic style of cooking and strive to give you the full Down South CaJJun experience with great food, great people, and a great time! Bringing the great taste of Southeast Texas/Louisiana to Austin!

Mae a reservation. We waited 1 hr WITH a reservation. It was even crazier for those without one. Every thing took forever-drinks and food. The people next to us ended up leaving after waiting over an hour for their food. They also don’t time the food right. One person food would come. Then that person would be finish by the time the other person’s food came. We had a party of 4. Two orders came out. Then it took another 20 mins for the offer two orders. Everything was good, but it doesn’t make up for the horrible service.

Sorry to say, if customer doesn’t have fork, spoon, and napkins, what are we suppose to do with the appetizer? Hour and 15min for a dish is too much and not worth it so we CX and got out…

I had a really good experience. The waitress was nice and friendly. I was celebrating my birthday alone and she checked on me often to make sure I was good. Nice vibe on a Sunday afternoon.

The food was overpriced for what they give you. I paid 87$ for some lumpy mashed potatoes the smallest lamb chops I ever seen. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We found this place in TikTok while looking for a black owned brunch place in Austin. This place delivered above our expectations.....we were a party of 5 and they received 9.5 from everyone. The grilled pork chop is all that and a bag of chips! We highly recommend eating here if your in Pflugerville! ✨️

The service is always great and the food amazing! The catfish plate and gumbo was so delicious. Jermaine, Jahmaal, and all the staff kept the vibes going all night. Definitely recommend for all to try, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
