Welcome to Down the Hatch - EDINBURGH!

We are a diner focusing on diner style food with big flavour, fresh ingredients, huge taste and all things Canadian!!

Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult and are not permitted from 8pm onwards.

We have a 10 minute grace period for your booking. Please give us a call if you are running late for your booking.

Your table will be booked for 1 hour 15 minutes for bookings of up to 6 people; and 1 hour 45 minutes for bookings of 7+.

We have a limited number of outside tables. These are not bookable at the moment and are on a first come, first served basis.

Last bookings are 9.15pm as our kitchen closes at 9.45pm, 7 days a week.

    Amazing restaurant! Food was fantastic - highly recommend both the maple bacon poutine and carne asada fries!!

    We usually eat at the South Queensferry branch but had a show at the playhouse so decided to check out the city centre venue. Food was good, service unfortunately wasn’t great and hindered our experience.

    Staff are so helpful and friendly, first time and my dog was well looked after. Really enjoyed our night.

    House poutine x 4 / Montreal cheese steak / 2 x bacon cheese burgers / Caesar salad / maple wings = 2 very happy adults and 3 very happy teenage boys. Pilot beer on draft always a bonus as brewed only a mile away. Staff happy and attentive but never in your face. Good vibes. Always love it here!!
