    The food took about 45 minutes to arrive. Drinks took a very long time as well. The server wouldn’t come check on our table at all. When the food finally arrive it was alright. Definitely not worth the wait. I would not go back.

    Arrived five minutes before our reservation, and we weren’t seated until over 20 minutes past our reservation time. The hostess while seating us, then asked if we could please finish dinner in an hour and 15 mins, because they were overbooked. Service was sub-par and slow beyond this. Had to ask for a new water glass because ours smelled like an old wash rag. Food was unremarkable. Won’t be returning.

    Experience was great. My only complaint is the filet was very salty. There were two at my table and both were salty!

    Was it worth the hype? For the most part yes. We had a great time. Food was excellent and the service was satisfactory.

    Drake’s Houston: A Memorable Dining Experience with Minor Flaws Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5) Our first visit to Drake’s Houston was an overall delightful experience. The branzino was cooked to perfection, delivering a rich, flavorful taste that truly stood out. The 21 salad, packed with fresh seafood, large shrimp, and creamy avocado, was delicious, but the shrimp could have benefited from a bit more seasoning to enhance their flavor. Service was attentive, even as our server managed both our table and a large group in the private dining area—a testament to his professionalism. The bartender also impressed us, handling a shortage of Sauvignon Blanc by recommending an alternative that turned out to be an excellent choice. Additionally, the Pinot Grigio we enjoyed was crisp, clean, and introduced us to a brand we hadn’t tried before—a nice touch. The ambiance is a highlight at Drake’s, with rich reds, warm lighting, and elegant decor that creates a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere. The attention to detail in the wall art and fabrics enhances the overall vibe, making it a space you want to linger in. While our experience was close to a 4.5, we’ll aim for a table in the main dining room or at the bar next time to soak in more of the lively energy we love. Drake’s Houston has made it to our list of go-to spots, and we look forward to returning soon!

    Drake’s was absolutely amazing from the moment we walked in until the end of our meal. Our server was absolutely excellent and he took the time to explain everything on the menu. The food was exquisite compliments to the chef. Definitely looking forward to returning in the near future.

    The valet is $20 and they do not disclose this until you get your car. The valet card reader did not work so the valet harassed us to Venmo his personal account and would not let us leave.

    Bad experience. We were seated almost an hour after our 8:30pm reservation. We are fairly certain our waitress forgot to put our order in, as the salad course did not arrive to our table until 10:30pm and entree course at 11:30pm. We did not plan on a 3-hour dinner but that’s what we got. We will not be back.
