Located on Lake Wylie in the newly developed McLean South Shore, Drift on Lake Wylie is a chef-inspired lakeside chophouse. At the forefront of the Lake Wylie dining scene, our food is simple and seasonal—home to prime cuts of beef, local seafood, and homemade pasta. Whether you join us for dinner, pop by the bustling bar for a quick bite, or book one of our private dining rooms for a special dinner or cocktail party, we look forward to serving you soon.

Located 8 minutes south of Belmont off South New Hope Road and North of Lake Wylie just off Pole Branch Road.

Please join us on Thursday, June 12th, to enjoy the wines and stories of Prisoner Wine Company. Our 5-course meal will be specially crafted by Executive Chef Jesse Syzmanski. This menu will highlight the notes and flavors of each wine and guarantees a meal to remember. The menu price is $125++ per guest; this price does not include a special event service fee of 4%, 18% gratuity, or tax. A credit card hold will be required to make the reservation, and payment will be due at the conclusion of your meal.

PLEASE, PLEASE,PLEASE, have a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand by the glass back on the menu. The whites by the glass are not good and Drift is the type of restaurant that should offer a high end New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc by the glass!! PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE!!

We had a wonderful time with our friends last nite (6/6/25). The food was delicious! Service was slow. We ordered lobster bisque which was amazing but came out without the spoons. Our server seemed new and nervous and oversat. Spilled water at our table, spilled my husbands beer. Drift has been open for “years” now. My husband ordered a filet medium and it was well done. It took a long time to get food, so he didn’t return it for fear of it taking too long to get another one. We shouldn’t have to ask for another one. Medium is medium. At a restaurant that costs $400+ to eat and drink…it should come out perfect. Worst thing having experience in the restaurant business is seeing a restaurant not being able to cook a filet to order when you ask how you want it cooked. On the bright side. Server was absolutely lovely. But overwhelmed. I had the mushroom risotto and it was perfect. Don’t F up a filet when it’s your special for the nite. Good atmosphere. Very expensive.

Just Do It. The food & service is awesome. Beautiful lake front dining. Delicious menu including Foie gras. Great cocktails like the famous Pommarita. Life is good.

65$ filet was really fatty. Ordered salad with dressing on side it came soaked in dressing. Ordered crispy Brussels and nothing remotely crispy about them. Manager asked if we enjoyed dinner. We told him the truth. He apologized but offered no further solution. First two times there were positive experiences. Won't be going back unfortunately.
