Ducks Inn Bar - Casual old-fashioned bar serving good wholesome dishes from Fish and Chips to Cote De Boeuf, pumpkin ravioli etc. Soup&Sandwiches are also served to 5pm

Ducks Inn has a tremendous wine list from across the world form 1st growth Clarets to every day house wine. Ducks Inn is also in the Real Ale Guide, has awards for its whisky list, is a partner bar with the Scotch Malt Whisky Society and has a well-stocked five foot cigar humidor.

Our main courses were a bit suspect. Questions over freshness of langoustines and my steak in a peppercorn sauce wasn’t great. Chips were tasty though and the sticky toffee pudding was outstanding. Early days post Covid, so I’d like to try again in a few weeks time as the venue and location are lovely. Owner was delightful when checking in with customers.

Menu limited in front outside area as only boxes. Limited choice and small portions for money. But very friendly staff

Until we open properly and can get some volume we have to keep the menu, all of which is fresh and local, limited or it would go in the bin. COVID restrictions mean we run at a loss until we open properly. The boxes outside were very popular last time. if you wish to have a plate just ask or come inside and that's what you will get. Thanks for the feed back.

Welcoming. Relaxed. Good range of menus from haute cuisine to bar food. Reasonably priced. Nice surroundings.

Lovely lounge with French jazz and graphics and sun-bathed exterior sitting area. Great lunch stop.

First post-lockdown lunch in the new restaurant. Very friendly welcome by Malcolm (owner) and his team. Excellent food, great wine (Crozes-Hermitage) and draught beer taken outside. Fair price. A favourite place.

I ate at Ducks two weeks ago, had the same meal, and two weeks ago I thought it was hotter and fresher so 2 weeks ago I'd have given five stars but it was still very enjoyable and 4 stars. The quietness of the conservatory area and the fact that for most of the time two of us had it to ourselves earns five stars - and to congratulate you for keeping going during these really tough times and (maybe) also taking forward that a quiet restaurant is an absolute joy. It was relaxing, clean, quiet, bright, well-distanced....fantastic. It's only the third time I have eaten out since February - twice at Ducks. This was incomparably a better experience than the third occasion when another restaurant had outstanding food...but everything felt too close and not comfortable. I'll definitely return - but maybe choose something different!

It was a quiet, grey Wednesday lunchtime when my wife and I visited Ducks. We had been past before but had never stopped. It won’t be the last time. The service was friendly and the food was excellent and very good value. Most notable was the white chocolate and tonka bean parfait which I had for dessert. Definitely one of the best desserts I have eaten and I don’t say that lightly.

Thoroughly enjoyable meal with some special touches we could not recreate at home. We ate early and the restaurant was very quiet hence the lack of atmosphere. Great service though and we would return.
