Duner's, brought to you by Ten Course Hospitality, is a casual fine dining restaurant located five miles west of Charlottesville in the village of Ivy, Virginia. Our menu changes daily, allowing our chefs to use the best ingredients seasonally available. We have an extensive wine list, a full bar and a very experienced service staff. Established in 1983, our goal has always been to serve great food in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Our portions are generous, our ingredients are the finest and we want everyone who walks in the door to become a regular customer!

    The drinks were very good. We waited at the bar until the table was ready. The Brasserie G&T was so tasty! The bartender was friendly and efficient. He was so busy, it was impressive with how quickly he was putting out drinks for the servers. I think there was only one draft beer available, but my husband was happy with the local beer that was offered. (There were many others available in cans or bottles). We were seated at a nice booth prior to the reservation time. The bread and butter was fresh and delicious. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the NY strip. Both were very good. The crab cakes were fried, but not at all greasy. There was no discernible filler and the house made tartar sauce was delicious. We chose the crème caramel for dessert. It was a very nice custard with berries and a thin caramel sauce. Everything was great. The service was very good, but all the servers seemed to be overextended. Maybe they were a little short handed last night. Overall, it was an excellent meal and we will definitely go back.

    Duck was excellent, as was the trout. Fantastic dessert selection. Good folks behind the bar - both my Manhattan and Boulevardier were outstanding. Tina did a great job taking care of us - professional and just the right amount of presence!

    Excellent dinner to celebrate a birthday! All meals were delicious especially the Brussels sprouts! Wow what flavor! Great service and a great evening!

    There were 3 of us last evening. We were seated promptly, served quickly and accurately, and it was service with a smile! The food, fish and beef, were excellent and prepared as requested. Will continue to dine at Duners!

    My wife and I have eaten at Duners on 4-5 occasions. Our most recent dinner was a clear disappointment. We like the simple decor and atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. However, the meal this time out, was very mediocre. First the good. As an appetizer, we ordered the crispy brussel sprouts. They were excellent! The bread was also very good. The very mediocre. My wife and I both ordered the NC Rainbow Trout. It's supposed to be a crusty almond trout. This is a familiar arrangement and I've had this at several other restaurants. The trout was absolutely waterlogged and mushy. The polenta and beets were cooked nicely but had very little flavor. I also noticed that all the items had the same coloring so the presentation looked rather cheap and uninteresting. Both of our dishes had very similar issues. Duners has achieved a very good reputation over the years. I believe the new owner is the same chef that has been there forever, so our experience is especially curious. Duners is not an inexpensive restaurant and I would expect much more.
