Since 2011, EMei has emerged as one of Philadelphia's premier dining destinations, celebrated for its authentic Chinese cuisine curated by Master Chef Zhao and a team of 6 wok chefs that born and trained in the Sichuan region of China.
Boasting over 50 years of expertise in mastering Sichuan cuisine, Chef Zhao skillfully infuses dishes with bold chili oils, aromatic peppercorns, and expertly seasoned cuts of fish, meat, and produce.
Situated conveniently in Chinatown, EMei diligently procures fresh ingredients daily. With a menu featuring 120 items, including house-made egg rolls and dumplings, we take pride in crafting everything in-house. This commitment not only ensures quality but also enables us to offer a wide selection of gluten-free and vegetarian options.

Top-tier restaurant in Chinatown definitely American modern flare, but authentic taste. Also did not feel like crap after I ate it or anyone else in my party.

We were seated promptly at our reservation time and the restaurant was packed! Our server came to greet us and was very knowledgeable about the extensive menu. We had apps and entrees for two ppl. Delicious!! E will definitely be back. Highly recommend this place but make a reservation!

The place was packed and clearly is popular. However, my family and I found the food and overall experience to be mediocre at best. Everything was haphazard.

I have celiac and the restaurant was very accommodating with gluten-free options. Overall, our food was excellent. The only negative, was that they cleared our table and brought the check without ever asking if we wanted anything else or dessert.

Delicious Szechuan food! Great service, comfortable atmosphere. If you don’t like spicy food, this probably isn’t the place for you though.

Overall, food was very good, service was prompt and attentive. The only item we were not wild about was the veg dumplings- they seemed to contain almost nothing but broccoli, and so were mushy inside, and not very tasty.

Allow me to clarify: our handmade vegetable dumplings are filled with carrots, cabbage, onion, ginger, scallions, garlic, and egg. Broccoli is not one of the ingredients.
