Overall, we were disappointed at this restaurant. We booked for 3pm, we arrived shortly before but we were not offered the 3 course menu, we only received the a la carte menu. Our starters were very small. Prawn cocktail was nice but tiny. The squid nduja frittas were not nice, they were over fried crispy and tasteless. Our mains of fish pie and Shepard’s pie were nice, but portion sizes were tiny. Also there was no accompanying vegetables, it was pot pie and that was that. Also, the restaurant add an automatic 10% service charge. There was only two of us! We asked that this was removed and we gave a cash tip to our server instead. We were disappointed in our experience. This is honest feedback which I would hope is taken onboard by the restaurant. A few small tweaks and I’m sure they can be back on track.

What a lovely restaurant. We had the sirloin beef Sunday roast which was so tasty. Eton mess and sticky toffee puds were delicious. All the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. This will definately be our regular eating place.

Fabulous experience. All the food, starters and main course were extremely well cooked and presented. Bothe the steak and the lamb were cooked as requested. Just about the right time between ordering and the starter and then the main course. All of the staff were attentive pleasant and very efficient. Reasonably priced for tge quality of food.

The food was next level. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The staff were warm, friendly and helpful. This was our first visit and it was a solid 11/10. Worth every penny I can't wait to go back.

Very very dark at the table. Struggled to read the menu. Two of us sat on the bench seat and our partners facing us on the chairs. We were higher up than them which wasn't good. The skewer starter was luke warm.the coq au vin main was in a bowl. Chicken on the bone and too many lardons. No sauce and very greasy. Complained about them. Ladies toilet seat not the right size for the actual toilet and the door wouldn't lock! Young lady who served us was very friendly. Will not be returning

Lovely meal. Highly recommend the Chateaubriand which was perfectly cooked and a generous portion. Service was friendly and efficient

Asked for a warm table and they sat us next to the large window which was cold. Service and food was great. I hate that they add a service charge to the bill, rather than let us add a tip. Feel awkward questioning it and think it’s a way for the owners to pay the staff more without us choosing to tip. Over a great valentines evening.
