Fork & Barrel prides itself on serving upscale American cuisine with a focus on local ingredients, craft cocktails, and serving it all with southern hospitality. The Restaurant is located on Frankfort Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky in one of the town’s restaurant rows. The Restaurant seats 100 guests and has reservations as well as open seating at the bar and seasonal patio seating.

The food was amazing. The staff was informative of the dishes. Geoffrey (chef/owner) came around and checked on our table a few times. He had great stories to share, and the short interaction showed just how much he loves what he does and cares about the people that come into his restaurant. The staff also made great recommendations on other things to see and do while in Louisville.

Upon arrival loved the place. Quiet and very pleasant. We had 18coaches for a dinner. They blocked off a room for us and it was very nice. Waiter was very pleasant and nice. Waited far too long for a canned beer and Diet Pepsi. Very slow. Ordered cornbread and brisket/queso. They weren’t good at all. Cornbread was dry and not tasty at all. Same with queso very bland and not good. So I was worried as I am the one who picked this place :) But then dinner came out. Wow wow wow It was amazing, filet, potatoes, carrots, fried sprouts. Was amazing and served well. The refills still were very very slow. But the main course will be talked about for a bit. Everyone in our group loved the dinner overall. Just wish for the price we paid that the service was a little faster and those appetizers would have been more enjoyable. Very expensive for not hardly eating. I did mention it to the manager when he asked. Overall good experience just hope they can work on those few things for next time.

Fork and Barrel was a perfect pick for happy hour and dinner! Appetizers were half-priced and the portions were large. Definitely order the jalapeño cornbread and be ready to take half home unless you are dining with a group. The scallops were delicious.

A great midweek dinner from start to finish! The bourbon barrel smoked wings were a great starter. Cool menu with something for everyone.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have a great experience. They appeared to be understaffed. We waited 20 minutes to place drink orders and 10 more for them to be filled. The server forgot to put in one app, so it was delayed. It appears the server also forgot to put in the salad order and brought out the wrong salad after being asked about the delay. The wedge salad was very good as was the short rib dish. The ribeye lacked any seasoning and was disappointing considering the price. Over all the food was good, the bar area is somewhat cafeteria like for the price point, would have preferred the dining area.
