Premier Steakhouse located in the heart of Downtown Salem! All of our steaks are Certified Angus Beef broiled with intense heat, seasoned with kosher salt, cracked pepper, and finished with clarified butter. A variety of seafood appetizers and entrees, family style sides, and our signature pineapple martini. Make sure to start with one of our delicious salads and finish with our famous bread pudding for dessert. Everything is made from scratch in house by our Executive Chef. Large bar and lounge area, main dining room, and 2 private event spaces.

    We were there with an elderly couple celebrating an 85th birthday and had reserved the perfect table which the restaurant honored. After arriving, we whispered to our waiter that our guests had physical issues with sitting for too long and we wanted our orders in asap with not the usual delay. After getting our drinks, we ordered immediately within 5 or 10 minutes at most of arrival, but despite assurances from our waiter, then sat for over an hour waiting for dinner. We didn’t order salads or apps so we just sat there talking, waiting and I could tell that my friend next to me was uncomfortable as her back issues began to manifest themselves. Our steaks finally arrived, all overdone. The 85 year old birthday guest sighed at his as it was medium to medium well and we alerted the manager/assistant manager who had then taken over our table (perhaps b/c the original server was consumed with a big party in a private room). She brought him another steak but of course we had all finished well before and he had already eaten his sides. I had asked for the remainder creamed spinach to be boxed but that never materialized. Bottom line, I was extremely disappointed for this once in a lifetime event for my friend,

    Frankie Rowlands in Salem is always a delightful place to have dinner. Great food and impeccable service.

    This was our first visit to Frank Rowlands and it was fantastic! Food was great, service was excellent, and we will definitely go back. It is expensive, but worth every penny!

    This was our third visit to Frankie Rowland's in Salem. We love the filets and the ambience. This was New Year's Eve so we expected a lively crowd. The crowd that night was mostly older, and it was not too loud for conversation at out table. Our sever was very attentive, but food delivery was slow. We ordered appetizers first. The Oyster's Rockefeller were delicious, although a few were over baked and dark. Our entree's were the 7 oz filets with two sides to share. My steak was PERFECTION. It melted in my mouth it was so tender. My husband's was a bit tough and he thought too salty. Others in our party did not comment on their steaks. I did not care for the roasted carrots with bacon jam as the dish was overwhelmingly sweet. The Cavatappi and cheese (basically mac n cheese) was tasty but needed more cream sauce as it was dry. We did not have dessert. Our meal was 3 hours as it took 2 hours for the entree to arrive. This was not problematic as we had appetizers and drinks. We plan to return, but likely on a less busy night.

    It took 5 tries before they had the bourbon I wanted. However, they had a bourbon menu that was two pages long. If youre going to have a bourbon menu, then stock everything on the menu. It took an hour to get our entree. That seems a little long. The steak was really good but not sure it was $55 good.
