A little about us & the culture that has been created… Friedmans is a family run business, which operates locations throughout New York City. Friedmans was named after the famous economist Milton Friedman who popularized the phrase, “there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch”. This phrase has gone on to be used in science, economics, finance, statistics, technology, sports, & now food. However, to put it simply, “to get one thing we like, we usually have to give up another thing we like.” Our mantra is simple, “Eat good food” and this is what we strive to deliver to our guests. For us, it has two meanings. Firstly, eat food that tastes good. Secondly, be proud of the food you serve. We know where our food comes from. We communicate regularly with our farmers and are proud to serve antibiotic free meats & local vegetables. Our mission is for you to love, respect, & enjoy, not only the food you serve, but also the team you work with.

Great Sunday dinner - food was delicious and our server, Sammy, was helpful and friendly, taking fantastic care of us. Without me asking, he also poured my after-dinner coffee just the way I like, leaving me enough room for a good dollop of half-and-half! It was the perfect casual evening, and quiet enough to catch up with an old friend.

Had my favorite entree last night, the Gluten Free Meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Always perfect!!!

I ordered the brick chicken and it was delicious! The chicken was moist and juicy and very flavorful.

Love Friedman’s but this last visit we were astounded that the FULL bar had many choices of bourbon but not one scotch choice - why have a bar?

This is currently the only restaurant in the city that can accommodate my kid's extensive allergies including a severe wheat allergy. We had a lovely meal yesterday and were treated well by the staffers who double triple checked everything and put us at ease. Just to feel like a normal family having a meal with friends is a golden experience for us. Thank you Friedman's

As someone who requires GF options, this is the restaurant to dine at; close to the Beacon Theater where we were headed after dinner!! I ordered the grilled cheese with smoked Gouda,aged cheddar and tomato on GF bread! I added a cup of tomato soup for dunking. Absolutely delicious!! My husband loved his grain bowl! I look forward to dining here again.

Sammy was great and so nice, thanks for the friendly and welcoming attitude. I LOVED being able to sit outside, the front of the house seemed to know how to manage the table seating and was apologetic for having us wait but we only waited a few minutes so I appreciate that they kept ensuring we were top of mind. We had a stroller and toddler and our seat was great. Food was excellent, one of the best burgers I've had. Toddler ate the entire mac and cheese and fruit cup, so THANKS for being great for families. Will absolutely come back the next time we're in NYC!
