Fuad's Restaurant operates without a menu, allowing guests to tell the chef exactly what they want, which is then cooked to their specifications. We went to Fuad's Restaurant the last day of HRW, just to try it out. They had a large selection to choose from and the food was very good. The staff was very attentive and the live music was not so loud we couldn't hear ourselves talking (big plus!). We felt like this was a neighborhood bar/restaurant. Very cozy and welcoming. We do have plans on going again.

We had a lovely experience at Fuad's. It is definitely an old school vibe. We were early during the week, so there was no live music. The piped in music was good for the most part. We like the older, 60's, 70's music, so enjoyed when that was playing, although there was some variation an for a short time got a bit loud. The bar was a gathering spot for several younger women who had drinks and chatted while we ate. We had the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu, and every course seemed to be full size. Each item was prepared well and served nicely. We had duck in a cherry sauce which was really excellent. Also loved the bananas foster, flamed at the table! We had house wines which were also quite nice. Other wines are served by the bottle only.

Didn’t realize the chef doesn’t arrive until 6 PM per waiter. Very nice food and service. Verbal menu. No prices mentioned.

Love Fuads. Have been eating there for 30 years. Great food. Fun atmosphere. Superior service. Friendly patrons.

Our favorite chef Josef was not there. However we were treated well and the food came out great!

This is a nice and unlike any other dining experience. From the food to the live music this is a one of a kind experience.

It was just not for me…too dark, dingy, loud, looks like it hasn’t been updated in 40 years.

We hadn’t been to Fuads in a while and decided to try it again even though the ‘no menu’ idea is a little off putting to some in our party. The chef was able to make all the dishes we requested including cioppino, shrimp scampi and lamb chops and all were delicious and the portions generous. The lobster bisque had big chunks of lobster. We thought the prices were comparable to any fine dining restaurant. They bring a platter of vegetables and scalloped potatoes for the table with the entrees. There is a piano bar and the piano player/singer started around 8:30 which is when most of the “regulars” arrive. Music was not obtrusive during dinner. Highly recommend this place.

I felt like I stepped back in time and was actually excited as we sat down and talked to the host. I disliked the lack of menu and knowing what I would be charged. The appetizer was OK but the fish was covered in way to much sauce. We also ordered the filet that was cooked to the perfect temperature but lacked any seasoning of any kind whatsoever. The cost of the evening exceeded most restaurants we visited in Houston (Artisan's, State of Grace etc) and I felt the cost was not commensurate with the meal delivered. I am clearly in the minority however as the restaurant was packed and had standing room only by 9 PM. It is an interesting eclectic location hidden in a strip shopping center and we always enjoy trying to find a hidden gem. I classify this as a great place to have a drink and listen to the piano player. If you decide to eat I would ask pricing first and proceed at your own risk.
