   Incredible hidden gem in the heart of Waikiki. Came here for my birthday and enjoyed every single bite. Chef thoughtfully curates every piece down the each garnish. I loved the variety of nigiri, A5 Wagyu temaki, uni toast, etc. It is hard to get a res so make sure to plan ahead and book about 1-2 months in advance as each day gets released for booking. The only thing I wish was different was that elevated wood shelf hinders the view of watching them prepare each course. You really can’t see anything until they put it on your stone dish. Every time I do omakase’s, watching them make it is one of my favorite parts. Perhaps that part is intentional on their end.

   I took my husband here to celebrate his birthday. It’s a very hard place to find. You have to find the restaurant “Buho” as Fokurou is run out of this other restaurant. They have you wait at the bar or the fire table which is nice and you can order any drinks you want and bring them to your table once it’s ready. We were led to the back of the Buho restaurant to an unmarked tall white door the opened to very small room with 8 seats at a bar top and greated by multiple Japanese employees. Who, btw, were so incredibly nice and welcoming! I was driving us and ordered an alcoholic drink that was WAY to strong for me to be able to drive later and they were so nice to accommodate and offer me a different drink without charging us for the first one! The food was absolutely amazing. There were many courses but they were small so you never felt you were overeating! The only downside was the other group was of 6 friends so it was extremely loud and hard to have a conversation. We didn’t mind too too much but it definitely took away from the intimacy I wanted for this dinner which was why I booked at this restaurant in the first place as there are only 8 seats. Overall it was a wonderful experience that I highly recommend!

   The food was amazing. The people were so nice. It was a little hot inside but other than that I had an amazing time. It was my boyfriend's birthday that day, and they gave him a cute icecream with happy birthday written with matcha powder!

   It’s a very reasonable Omalase with a mixture of fish sushi and other small dishes like wagyu handroll and chawan mushi. Just grab a spot if you can.

   What a treat! It took me ages to find (my fault) but it was a pleasure.. met great people and felt great afterwards. Totally my type of experience...I called out to my Portland friends...
