The story of GATTO MATTO

A revolutionary and Avant-Garde Art Deco concept with a flower bar theme that is a fusion between Chicago and Italy. Using premium materials designed and manufactured in Montreal, the elements marry themselves wonderfully. Bright and vibrant colors give a WOW factor that will make you feel like in a modern Milan hotel. The creation of the open kitchen concept never seen before in the Montreal area allows you to see the best chefs in the region at work.

Gatto Matto’s avant-garde and modern Italian menu was developed by our talented chef and co-owner, Ara Ekmekdjian. This multi-dimensional chef first studied the art of classical French cuisine under Richard Bastien at Lemeac. He then focused his attention on perfecting his Italian culinary skills at Beatrice. His desire to master his craft later led him to join the creative team at Le Chien Fumant, where he worked tirelessly to achieve the rank of Chef de Cuisine.

    Nous avons pris burrata, pievre grille filet mignon et les pates aux fruits de mers. Toutes 10/10. L'extra de focaccia est super aussi. Recommande!

    Absolutely fantastic experience! The food was incredible—every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect place for a relaxing dinner. Our waiter was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and always there to ensure we had everything we needed, including keeping our glasses full. The background music added a lovely touch to the ambiance. Overall, it was a memorable evening, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant!

    Belle soirée, très bon service, deco urbaine chic et de bon goût, confortable, bonne nourriture et drinks finement préparés. Seul bémol, la musique qui était un peu désagréable.

    Nous avons fêté notre anniversaire . Et mon mari a mangé la pizza carnivore et l'a trouvé succulente. J'ai choisi le tartare de boeuf j'ai super apprécié autant que la salade césar Et pour souligner notre anniversaire la serveuse nous a apporté de succulents cannons. Nous avons eu un service exceptionnel. Très chaleureux et attentif.je le recommande sans faute.

    Très agréablement surprise par notre souper au Gatto Matto ! La nourriture était délicieuse, le service de Marie-Eve impeccable et la lumière tamisée rendait l’endroit très agréable. Merci !
