With a name that means "cozy or nice atmosphere, but also belonging and general togetherness," gezellig invites guests to experience an elegant menu of local, seasonal cuisine using french techniques in a casual and welcoming environment. Located in Ottawa, Ontario, gezellig prepares each menu item using high-quality ingredients purchased locally. On the menu are items such as seared scallops, braised beef shortibs, potato gnocchi, beef tartare, duck breast, and wild-caught lingcod. Our classic butterfinger for dessert is a staple that has been on our menu since opening in 2012

Great service and amazing food. Appetisers were fantastic, the mussels were amazing. The salmon and beef short rib were fantastic. Highly recommend

This was a great Valentine’s Day date! The food was absolutely delicious, from appetizer to desserts. The drinks were also great. We were lucky to sit upstairs in one two booths as it was quieter and the ambiance was quite romantic. While the overall customer service was good, my only negative remark is that our server essentially disappeared after we received our main course and someone had to take over. In an establishment of this calibre, you would expect the server to come inform the clients if they are leaving and passing the client on to a different server. This miscommunication cause us to wait quite long between our main course and dessert course. Other than that little hiccup, everything was absolutely great, we will return for sure! Thanks Gezellig Team for this culinary experience.

We love to have lunch at Gezellig, the service always firs rate, the food is truly exceptional and the vibe is light and fun. The small plates offered at lunch time are original, very tasty and not so small. The "$30 for two small plates" lunch special is the best deal in town. Gezellig is highly recommended.

Gezellig was outstanding on this Valentine's Day lunch. It was busy as one would expect on Valentine's Day, but the hostess and serving staff and kitchen were up to the challenge. I love the two features to choose from option for lunch. They change the offerings from time to time. The Radicchio Salad and Ricotta Gnudi were great and my friend had the Artisanal cheeses which were also great. The sun was streaming in the windows. Service was excellent. It was a treat.

Great food and out of this world service. Gezellig went above and beyond making our time there memorable. Including food recommendations and hospitable service. Everything we had was great from starters to dessert. Must try: Beef Short Rib and “Butterfinger”

Great food and service at Gezellig. I dine here at least once a month and the menu changes enough to allow for new selections. At lunch the $9 wine offering is most welcome.

What can I say? Gezellig lived up to my expectations which were pretty high to begin with. I have been to the other two Beckta establishments and know what to expect. Besides the food (which was stellar) the service was excellent. Attentive without being in the least bit obtrusive - I couldn't ask for better. I feel that the value received was excellent, and my dining companion felt the same way. We will be back, and we're bringing friends.
