Made a reservation for afternoon holiday tea and was seated in an overflow room that looked like a coat closet with two tables in it. Bright lighting- conference room vibes- horrible bait and switch from the description on the website to the reality of the seating situation.

Well, I can’t rate the service or food, because I made the reservation with Open Table, they asked me to confirm it a day before my reservations. My friends and I showed for a Holiday High Tea only to find the restaurant closed. They changed their hours in November, well before I made my reservation. This may be a problem between Open Table and Gracie’s restaurant but either way, my friends and I had to scramble to find a place for our holiday get together. Then to add insult, Open Table sent me a note to write a review. I’m now questioning whether I should depend on Open Table.

The afternoon tea service did not live up to our expectation or the price. From the start it was apparent the servers had not been properly trained. To my surprise, a black box of tea samples abruptly appeared right in front of me without warning. Just there it was. Instead of serving hot water for tea from the right, the server reached in front of my friend to pour into her cup. There are other things I could mention but needless to say it was not the superior experience we hoped for the price a 20% gratuity. I’m sorry to say it was like eating at a fast food diner.

Took my mom and husband to Afternoon Tea for a holiday celebration and it was great. The restaurant confirmed with me three times that they could accommodate my mom's food allergy ahead of time and her choices were excellent. The service and ambiance were outstanding and the food was delicious. My one wish is that it were just a bit quieter for conversation, but the noise level was still reasonable for a full restaurant. We ill definitely return for Afternoon Tea and I hope they consider offering it year round.

Party of 4 for Holiday High Tea. Excellent service, quaint food and nice tea selection. It's it's own experience! Appreciated the vegetarian accommodation for one of my guests.

Excellent service and quality of food. Outstanding server and perfect “fancy old world” vibes for my mother’s 75th birthday. We have high standards on a budget and this place fit the bill.

We had lunch on 12/13 and there were no Christmas decorations up as in the past. No wreaths on their mirrored walls as the years before. Disappointing. I ordered the portobello mushroom sandwich. It was tough and needed to be cut with a knife. The whole piece came out of the sandwich when you bit into it. Basically it was a Banh Mi with cucumbers and julienne carrots. I look to Gracie’s as a special place but was disappointed this time.

Gracie's is located in The Deluxe Hotel in DT Portland. I took my adult kids for their High Tea Service. The lobby of the Hotel was decorated beautifully. I felt the restaurant could have used a bit of Holiday Décor itself and the temperature was chilly. The scones were bland, the chocolate mouse tart was fine. The lemon bar was very sweet, but the cranberry orange tea bread was delightful. The Smith Loose leaf Teas were spot on as well as the Place Settings. My favorites were the sandwiches. The ham was delicious, the cucumber one was light and fresh, and the chicken salad one was the most filling. All in all I liked the sandwiches and the Teas the best. The pastries were underwhelming, especially for the price.

Excellent food and elegant atmosphere. Wait staff is wonderful but terribly overworked, i.e., two waitresses for a full restaurant!
