Grain & Cane - Bar & Table is your home for hospitality in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. An homage to family nostalgia, our neighborhood table is built on the Connell legacy, as leading American rice and sugar cane purveyors and community idealists. Our menu features dishes that nod to family tradition, regional flare, and vibrant flavors, such as seasonal cocktails, our famous Grover Double Burger and Shrimp Tostada. Strong roots and dynamic character serve as the blueprint for a thoughtful selection of craft beers, wine, and cocktails. Vintage art and antique photographs from past Connell generations set a backdrop for a convivial atmosphere – a restaurant and bar ideal for a range of experiences, from casual occasions to magnetic celebrations. We dine here often, during the week and on weekends. The service, or lack thereof, today left much to be desired. After taking our order, we had to wave down our waitress twice for more tap water and again to get our bill. Under different circumstances we would have ordered more drinks or dessert but didn’t bother today. The restaurant wasn’t busy, so it’s unclear why our waitress struggled to pay attention to our party.

Third time here and I keep ordering the disco fries with duck confit and the lobster roll. Everything else looks delicious and I must try the other items on the menu

There was a big black board with flipping messages on it, some were funnier than the others. It looks like the boards you used to see at the stock market. It was pretty loud. The food was good, the service is excellent. It was pretty expensive and the steak was a little undercooked but they offered to remake the steak. I rate it 4 stars out of five.

I’ve come to this restaurant many times before and loved it. Today the service was slow at best. The food was cold and took over an hour and a half to get breakfast if not longer and the initial waiter we had was no where to be found. Disappeared, couldn’t order a drink. Had to flag down another waiter in order for somebody to find our waiter. Didn’t keep us up-to-date on why our food had taken so very long. Overall terrible experience today . Totally disappointed.

Me and the girlies love this place so much. It was our little hidden gem. We talked about it so much it’s always busy now!! We love the atmosphere and the cocktails!! Come dressed up or down this place is the place to be!!

Very good meal. Service was great, we felt very attended to. The prime rib sandwich was the hit of the table. The desserts were amazing (bread pudding and grilled chocolate cake)
