Grain & Cane - Bar & Table is your home for hospitality in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. An homage to family nostalgia, our neighborhood table is built on the Connell legacy, as leading American rice and sugar cane purveyors and community idealists. Our menu features dishes that nod to family tradition, regional flare, and vibrant flavors, such as seasonal cocktails, our famous Grover Double Burger and Shrimp Tostada. Strong roots and dynamic character serve as the blueprint for a thoughtful selection of craft beers, wine, and cocktails. Vintage art and antique photographs from past Connell generations set a backdrop for a convivial atmosphere – a restaurant and bar ideal for a range of experiences, from casual occasions to magnetic celebrations. Very good meal. Service was great, we felt very attended to. The prime rib sandwich was the hit of the table. The desserts were amazing (bread pudding and grilled chocolate cake)

Good food... We ordered kids burger and pasta and a pizza. The pizza was burned and got no reaction after providing feedback. I also left my keys behind and nobody picks up their phones to talk.

The best lunch deal of the New Year. $22 was well spent on the lunch special. We both had a delicious Caesar salad, I had a turky club with avaocado and my partner has the always tasty hamburger. Tart lemon ice and homemade cake were the included desert. Not to be missed!!!

We have been to Grain and Cane several times - the food is always great as well as the service But today we were a little disappointed - The restaurant was ice cold -you had to keep on your coat to stay warm while eating - Service was less than stellar - not what we are used to at this restaurant

Our waiter was great. Did not rush us at all be was always there when needed. Pasta and pizza were very good. A nice hotel restaurant.

Sadly, this was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a very long time. On the "features" menu, they listed Peking Duck. I asked the waiter if it was served the traditional way with pancakes, scallions, hoisin, etc. He said yes. My sister ordered the pork schnitzel from the regular menu because it featured housemade sauerkraut. When our orders arrived, it was neither Peking Duck, nor was it sauerkraut. When we questioned our waiter about the duck, at first he thought he brought the wrong entree, but then came back and said that is what they chef calls Peking Duck. When we asked about the sauerkraut, he pointed to red cabbage and said, that's sauerkraut. We informed him it was not. I ate very little of my duck; my sister ate none of the red cabbage. The waiter never offered to remedy the problem, even when he saw how little of my dinner I ate. I'd suggest that Grain & Crain either revise the verbiage on their menus giving accurate descriptions of the entrees, or actually serve what they say they are. My "Peking" Duck entree was $37 which is a lot to spend when one doesn't get what they think they're ordering...

We visited for my boyfriend’s birthday and everything was just perfect! Lovely ambiance, attentive staff, food came in a timely fashion. We ordered a few things but the Mushroom Pizza and Scallop Risotto were our favorites of the night. They also put his name on the board wishing him Happy Birthday which was a lovely touch. Thank you so much! We will be returning soon!!
