    Attentive start but then, orders food and drink, waited 10 minutes for drink to be told they didn’t have one of the premixed cocktails, waited another 10 mins and then we weee told they had run out of fillet steak, new order placed and all drink arrived at the same time. Bread starter was okay . Food came steak cooked under what was ordered but that is subjective medium rare was rare etc, cold not even tepid. Green beans were very undercooked but tasted nice although almost raw. Little gem lettuce was only 1 half again taste was good but very cold and for £5 very miserly portion. We gave up and took steak home for dogs. We decided not to take on the complaint to management as it would have ruined our evening further. Asked for bill and it arrived £200, we questioned it as we had not had the food on it only, to the amazement of the waitress, to find she hadn’t cleared the previous customers bill, (surely it looked wrong to her , poor on her part) paid and left having given the gentleman on the next table our left over bottle of sparkling water as they had run out of it. It’s poor ordering to run out of steak but it’s atrocious to run out of a simple water that you can get everywhere and good practice is to go get even if you don’t sell it on . Look after your customers. Overall it was a very poor experience and we will sadly not return, it was “date night” and we were looking forward to a good meal. 48 people 1 toilet and not disabled friendly and upstairs, poor

Running out of key menu items, including water, is unacceptable, and we will review our stock management to ensure this doesn’t happen again.     Table wasn't ready when we arrived on time for our booking. Food tasted great but expensive when sides are charged additionally. Waiting staff did not know where beef came from but did come back to tell us. Also did not know which burger was well done when served. "Chef didn't tell me." Cold upstairs sat next to a window and near draughty fireplace. Great bottle of red wine.

    When we arrived at the establishment we were asked three times for the name made when booking. We were lead upstairs and placed on a table for 4. There were two of us. We weren’t given menus when we first sat down and the area was cold. The waitress finally gave us menus and left us to decide what we wanted to order. When she came over she answered our questions regarding the different steak choices. She was helpful. We order the bread selection to start. What a mistake. The bread was given without side plates or a knife, in the end I used my steak knife. The server left without asking about side plates, however another waitress must have seen my quizzical face. The bread was advertised as focaccia, sourdough and white bread. Not sure where the focaccia was, the sourdough was dry as though it had been on the side all day, the white bread was the only nice bread of the appetiser. The steak arrived whilst we were still eating the bread selection. The plates from the appetiser were not removed from the table, and remained there until the end of the meal. I was disappointed with the side of broccoli, which had a sauce not mentioned on the menu, and was hard. No member of staff asked during the meal if we were ok and if everything was ok. Not sure if I would return.

    We were very excited to try this place but unfortunately the experience was rather underwhelming. We like to think they were having an off day so would consider returning at some point. We were told the stew would take 25mins as it would need to be prepared from scratch, we found this a strange thing to say when, well it’s stew, and the stew was so salty it wasn’t pleasant, and the waitress said she would inform the kitchen. My ribeye was very good my sons flat iron was laced in far to much garlic which was unexpected and he couldn’t eat it. Unfortunately Very very expensive underwhelming Experience I’m afraid to say Ely has so many fantastic places to eat but this one doesn’t even make the top 10 😢

    Wonderful breakfast, our first time there and it won’t be the last. zoe was attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. Excellent value as part of the breakfast club!

    We had the Barette Steak and it was cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned. I had the chunky chips on the side, and my friend the mash with truffle which was delicious. Service was spot on as was the general ambiance. The only thing was the portions where on the smaller side - but taste value 100%

    Had a fantastic meal! They made a great effort for my brother's birthday. Our table for 8 was in a semi-private area upstairs which was lovely. Food and service were great!

    Disappointed as had been recommended. They made an error on our order, and the manager seemed unwilling to accept any responsibility. There was no offer to correct the order or deduct meal. Errors happen, but how they are dealt with is important.
