In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries.

Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. A place for our community to gather and share food and drink that are crafted of the finest in-season regional ingredients.

The entire staff were pleasant and informative about the menu and specials . Very attentive to every detail of the birthday dinner that was being celebrated. Noise level was low great music excellent Bartender Dan, Host and waitress Pat.

Blown away by this little gem of a place. It’s clear that everyone who works here is happy to be here, even at the end of the night. This place has the best vibe and staff chemistry. And now to the food… OH MY GOD. Appetizers, drinks (including mocktails), entrees, and desserts were the highest quality in the whole area. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. One of the owners, DP, bartends and comes around to every table to make sure that everyone enjoyed themselves. Best Valentine’s Day ever. We will be back very soon.

We had a great Valentines Day experience at Haviland. Service was friendly, not rushed even though it was a busy holiday. Food and drinks were great.

Good and service were phenomenal. Also their French fries was top tier. Parking was also good, they have a lot. Highly recommend this spot.

Amazing! We had a reservation and sat right on time as did everyone who walked in and they were super busy! Our meal from salad to entree to dessert was absolutely delicious, as was the Xpresso Martini too! Staff great, helpful, friendly! Highly recommend!

It is a great place. Had the wings, fried burrata appetizers, Did a Caesar salad for the table. For mains, we had the duck special, the rigatoni and the tuna. The duck was exceptional and the other mains were just as good. The service is great. Kat is especially wonderful.
