Welcome to Hawkeye & Huckleberry Lounge, where celebrated Chef Brian Malarkey and his brother James bring a slice of their Central Oregon ranching heritage to Bend. Our 'modern cowboy' restaurant & bar with its wood-fired oven, semi-private canvas tent dining, and a vibrant outdoor patio, perfectly embodies Oregon's majestic outdoors.

Our menu, deeply rooted in ranch-to-plate traditions, showcases beef & produce from our nearby Tumalo ranch. With an onsite butcher shop and smoker, we utilize every part of the animal, delivering high-quality steaks and inventive dishes at friendly prices. Favorites include our Happy Hour Smash Burger, Beef Fat Fries, Steelhead Trout, and Beef Tongue Tostadas all to be enjoyed alongside cocktails, mocktails local beers, and PNW wines.

Hawkeye & Huckleberry Lounge also serves as a dynamic venue for private events, from intimate dinners to grand celebrations. Join us for a dining experience that celebrates the culinary heritage of Central Oregon.

We had steaks and the trout. Everything was delicious. The service was great and so were the drinks.

Our server remembered us! We had been there in July 2024 and we loved it. The food was amazing, the drinks were so good!

We has high hopes for our meal but walked away disappointed! Ordered the bone it New York medium rare with cream mash potato’s and a “wedge salad”. The salad came out in about 6 minutes and was terrible. It was chopped into little pieces and had dressing dumped all over it then all of these strange tasting spices sprinkled on top. Definitely NOT a wedge salad in any reality I know of. Our steak came out rare and bloody. Seriously needed another 3+ minutes on the grill and then there were the creamy mashed potatoes… OMG they were so pasty like glue. You could have laid brick with them. My wife, who is an amazing chef in her own right, said everything is pre made there and just sitting …. It was the only explanation for the terrible quality of the meal and the speed at which we received it. Looks like it’s going to be a happy hour and Friday music stop for us in the future …. Would not recommend in the future!

The food was absolutely amazing. The service was quick and Hunter was very knowledgeable and gave great advice! We did show up a little early and an extra waiter was not there yet so we had to stand and wait, we were given the option to sit at the bar but we did not want to be at the bar at that time. Overall it was a great experience and would definitely return and recommend to others!

I’ve been to Hawkeye & Huckleberry many times but this last experience was a little different and sad. We did the Valentine’s pre-fix menu and I get it it’s a busy night but the food was a complete miss. It didn’t taste and feel like the normal Hawkeye that I normally love.

The ambience and vibe was amazing! Our server was great and the food was really good. However we signed up for their Valentines package and they ran out of the soup so they brought salad which I don’t eat and the lava cake was inedible. But to be fair we did get the dessert to go and tried to eat it at home 45 minutes later. The band cancelled so there was no live music as was advertised for Valentine’s Day. So we went for a rather expensive experience but don’t feel like we got the full experience. We will be back another time for sure but maybe not on a special day.

Bar seating is very chili due to doors being drafty. Food was just ok nothing special very expensive for what we had.
