Welcome to Hawksmoor Chicago, where we bring our acclaimed steakhouse experience from the UK to the iconic LaSalle Powerhouse in River North. Our ethos is simple: ‘Buy the best and let it shine.’ We serve all-natural, pasture-reared, dry-aged beef from US family-run farms, cooked over charcoal and seasoned simply with sea salt. Our seafood, sourced from trusted Northeastern fishermen, is prepared with equal care.

In our 16,500 sq ft space, featuring barrel-vaulted ceilings and touches from the Golden Age of Travel, Hawksmoor is perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re stopping by for cocktails, a casual lunch or a special celebration, we make sure you leave full and happy. We also offer private dining for groups of 10 to full venue buy-outs for 500—ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and corporate events.

And don’t miss our Sunday Roast: dry-aged beef, beef-dripping potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and bone marrow gravy—something like a Thanksgiving dinner every Sunday.

Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

Have you heard of our Monday Wine Club? It’s a simple concept: bring any wine you like – doesn’t matter if it’s a first-growth Bordeaux or a bottle of Barefoot – and we’ll only charge you $10 corkage (for up to two bottles). Not sure what to buy? Take a stroll over to our neighbors at the Aqua Wine & Spirits store (they’re literally on the other side of the street) and they’ll help you choose something to make your meal pop. You can even call us ahead of time and ask one of our somms what they suggest.

Cocktail Hour is kind of a big deal here at Hawksmoor. From 5 till 7pm, Monday to Friday, you can grab a selection of our world-class cocktails for a cool $12 – and we’re doing our freshly shucked Island Creek oysters for just $2 a pop. Try Chicago’s coldest martini – we serve ours at a bracing 10°f – with spicy Scotch Bonnet Oysters or our Wicklow Old Fashioned with charcoal-roasted bone marrow oysters. The best bit? No reservations required – just swing by when it suits you. Of course, if you’d like to stay for dinner, you can book a table any time.

Hawksmoor has a fantastic atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and welcoming, making it a great spot for a special night out. The food was delicious, with well-prepared dishes that truly lived up to the restaurant's reputation. The service was exceptional—attentive, professional, and friendly, which added to the overall experience. However, the drinks were notably expensive, which was a bit of a downside. While they were crafted well, the high prices made them less enjoyable. Overall, it's a great place for a meal, especially if you're focused on the food and ambiance, but be prepared for the pricey drinks.

The cocktails were excellent-and the mock tails were pleasantly refreshing. We had the bone marrow and steak tartare appetizers and both had phenomenal flavor. The steaks were cooked perfectly, and while they did not need the sauces, they definitely added to the flavor. We had the mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and macaroni and cheese and all was excellent. Highly recommend the spinach if you want a lighter side, but the macaroni and cheese was also really really good. We also had the sticky toffee sundae and what a decadent treat!! Service was perfection, ambiance could not be more perfect and we can’t wait to come back again.

This was our second visit to Hawksmoor and it was exceptional. The appetizers and sides are excellent and very good value. The steak was superb and cooked to perfection. And the sticky toffee pudding for dessert is worth a visit all by itself. The service is excellent with staff who are both friendly and very professional. I would definitely recommend Hawksmoor and I look forward to our next visit.

Simply a great experience. The nicest staff, one of the best Mocktail's I've ever had, and the food was sublime. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner with outstanding atmosphere.

Wow! Chicago has many great steakhouses, and this one is every bit as good as the old guard with small tweaks that make it incredible. The skillet filet and the full fat old fashioned are perfected classics. The skillet filet is smothered in bone marrow caramelized onions which may be the best onions I’ve ever had. The saltiness from marrow and the sweetness from onions added so much decadence to a really great cut of meat. The full fat old fashioned at $20 has a lot to live up to, and some how it does and then some! The brown butter element gives it almost a butterscotch flavor but not overly sweet. It’s so balanced, I would challenge even non-whiskey drinkers to try it. Mashed potatoes and gravy were really good, Mac and cheese was high quality but nothing revolutionary. -1 star on ambiance because our table was reallly close to our neighbors but the vibe was exactly what you want in a steak house, and even the coat check/check in desk gives a very upscale experience.

A-MAZING food. We just did meat. Veal, filet, strip and fried shrimp. Not a single morsel remaining.

We were a party of 6, got there at 6 and sat for over an hour and a half for our dinner. There was a food allergy at the table and was told to the server that it was severe . After waiting an hour and a half the server was kindly asked what happened to the meal and he had to “check on it” . As we watched patrons come and go we finally got our meal. The person at our table with the severed food allergy was given a sauce with the sauce me ingredient that was communicated would be deadly to them. Luckily the sauce was NOT used BUT also if it was used 911 would have been needed. Luckily the manager realized what had happened and during the meal removed the sauce with great concern for the safety of our guest. Ultimately the food was sub par and the experience disappointing .
