Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The menu revolves around the best British produce the country has to offer with grass-fed dry-aged ethically reared beef, sustainable seafood from the South coast and some of the biggest hits from the Hawksmoor New York menu.

                                                                                      The usual amazing Hawksmoor experience. One of the better Hawksmoor venues, lovely to be by the water and a spacious but intimate seating experience. Staff as usual were first class, however our server tonight Jan was a master of his craft. Friendly, polite and attentive but in no way intrusive and lovely personable disposition. In fact I’d go so far as to say Jan elevated the high class experience even further, bravo. My dining companion also said that this was the best tiramisu he’s ever had which is further high praise. Thanks Jan and team!

                                                                                      We only order one course main meal - we had to wait 45 minutes for our food. I ordered fillet (medium) and it came out completely burnt and well overdone. I couldn't wait any longer for another steak to be cooked.
