I really wanted to patronize this business, but our experience was fair at best. I met friends here to celebrate my wife's bday and made reservations (we're from Baton Rouge). When we walked in everyone's first impression (or question) was....we needed reservations for this? It was "OK" for fellows stopping by for drinks after work to watch the game, but it did not meet expectations for my group. The security guard advised that there is an upstairs area that was more intimate. I asked if we could see it, and he advised only one of us could go up and look at it. Furthermore, the menus were dramatically different. I elected to go up, and honestly, it was a really great atmosphere. There was a DJ and singer for entertainment and the decor was perfect for a bday celebration. I didn't look at the menus. I left the rest of the party to do that. I told the guard we would go upstairs. I waited upstairs for the rest of my party. When they arrived, they appreciated the decor as well, but they advised the menus were dramatically different. I was disappointed because the oxtails were recommended by two friends and it wasn't on the menu. The upstairs menu was very limited. The singer and DJ were very entertaining, and I appreciated their constant acknowledgment of my wife's bday. We ordered the "EXTREMELY" overpriced and underwhelming drinks and food. The wait staff was nice, but service was "VERY" slow. We (my wife and friends) had a great time (dancing and singing) because that's what we do. When we got the checks there was so much upcharging it was unbelievable. $5 per person for entertainment feed, $44 service charges and etc.... So it cut into the tip (my wife and I are naturally good tippers for good service). Oh.... and the lamb chops were unevenly seasoned, yet tender. The small portion of Cornish Hen was dry, gumbo was decent, but wasn't hot. Drinks were like coolaid. They said they wouldn't exchange them or take them back, so we were gonna take the loss.

1/5 stars food was good but basic wasn’t worth price. First place I ever paid 15 dollars for a bottle of water. Definitely won’t recommend.

Visually appealing restaurant. Very crowded, tables are tight. There is an entertainment fee. Food is mediocre, I actually didn’t eat mine. Dessert helped, there we decent.

I would much rather the original location. We visited from Cincinnati, Ohio- had reservations just to find out it was a limited menu due to Bayou Classic. My husband was served raw chicken and the etoufee was watered down. I would give the food a zero for the $229 spent. Additionally, we were each charged an entertainment fee of $5.00 just to find out there was a speaker outside for the patrons to listen to free of charge. I’m always happy when restaurants get to expand their business but I don’t think I’ll be back at the S. Rampart location.

We were seated at 8:14pm. The music was so obnoxiously loud we were literally yelling to try to hear each other. The space was extremely cramped and it took the waitress about 15mins to even acknowledge us. She asked us if we were aware of the entertainment fee and we explained that was not disclosed to us. She said that was something new they started. We declined that experience and specifically asked if we would be charged to leave because we had to leave a card on file to book the reservation. The waitress told us my card would not be charged. Shortly after, I received an alert they marked us as “no shows”. Thankfully, this was resolved by OpenTable.

Great live music ambience. Customer Service was awesome. The food was delicious especially the crawfish beignets.
