A few things to be aware of before you go to Hello Betty for dinner. If the weather isn't good, e.g., rain, the DJ is indoors resulting in deafening music. It was impossible to carry on a conversation. Whereas I had called to find out if they have gluten and lactose free options and was reassured that they did, I discovered the only thing I could eat was a chicken dish. It tasted fine - though very salty - but I was hoping they could modify one of the seafood dishes. Apparently, the chefs couldn't. The server was delightful but service was extremely slow. Not going back

The ambiance is pleasant, but the restaurant is clearly under staffed. The hostess was being extraordinarily nice to the group ahead of us, while we waited for 10-15 minutes. Online, the menu showed pictures of boiled crab, mussels and seafood platters, which is the reason we chose Hello Betty. We arrived at 4:00 and were told that all they had were small bites and that they would give us the dinner menu at 5:00. We waited and the dinner menu was disappointing…no shell fish and just everyday simply cooked fish. We did not stay for dinner. It’s a pity because the place is really nice and the staff are attentive.

Been here many times. Outstanding rooftop patio. Big problem getting service there. Not the first time for us. They need more staff.

It was a very nice ambiance and service was great. It was a little noisy but that was because of a very large birthday party of younger adults. The food was decent for the brunch we had, although the chicken with the chicken and waffles and hot honey chicken meals were very tough. It wasn't terrible but had that tough rubbery texture like it was microwaved before or after frying. Having butter knives to cut them didn't help either. All things considered, I would still come back to check out dinner, as my girlfriend said the dinner menu was better, in her experience.

The variety of food choices makes it difficult to chose. The deep fried ribs and crawfish mac n cheese are both tasty and creative eats. The cherry blossom is a delicious drink' not too strong and not too light.

Firsttttt, let me talk about the decor ... boom boxeds on the wall. Andy our server was great and very accommodating. Tiffany the manager ensured we had an excellent experience. She witness me eat my last piece of rock fish and my few little lentils that was waiting to jump inside my mouth so I could remember the deliciousness of the food from Hello Kitty!!! Thennnnnnn, Chef Brandon appeared at our table, shared his TESTimony, and his cooking career in such a humble manner. Nowwww, if I said all that and didn't mention any food you already know the food was booming like a boom box. You know the bigger the box the louder the sound. Wellll, people our food was served with class as if it was a display in an art museum. There is no need to boast if I said what I said about the three individuals you already know my taste buds was dancing around in my mouth loud and in harmony with allllll the flavors, spices, and flare as a woman's skirt dancing at a juke joint from back in the day. I said all that to say I live an hour away and it is still on my list of places to eat at one mo time. Happy eating ladies and gents ... let the food do the dancing for you at Hello Betty!!!!!! Drops mic and begins to listen to the music on the boom box as I reminiscence on my experience in Bethesda, MD. 😀😀😀 1000 out of 1000 ...

Pros: Great ambience in the outdoor seating area. Excellent service (great attitude from our server). The food was tasty and had a great presentation. Cons: The drink size is too small for the price. It would be nice to have a lunch-sized portion of the salmon meal for lunch for a lower price point. Need more 'main' options during the lunch hour. Need more veggie options that is hearty for lunch.

An Afternoon of Missed Marks: A Disappointing Dining Experience From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I had the uneasy sense that this would be less a culinary escape and more an exercise in patience. Unfortunately, that hunch proved accurate. The lackluster service began immediately at the door, where instead of being greeted and seated with a touch of hospitality—an essential standard in any respectable establishment—I was casually told to “sit wherever you want.” While some may appreciate the informality, I found it disorganized and unwelcoming, especially in a place that seemingly aspired to more than fast-casual fare. After choosing a table and settling in, it took an uncomfortably long ten minutes before a menu arrived. In a near-empty dining room—with only five other patrons scattered throughout—this delay was difficult to overlook. Once I had made my decision (a straightforward task that took no more than five minutes), I then waited an additional eight minutes before the server returned to take my order. The silence during this time was not filled with the warm ambiance of a bustling kitchen or the soft hum of attentive staff—it was filled with disappointment. When the food eventually arrived, the presentation did little to redeem the prior missteps. It came out lukewarm and looked rushed, as though plated without passion. For the price, I expected flavors that matched the establishment’s apparent aspirations, but what I received was decidedly average. It wasn’t bad, but it certainly wasn’t memorable—at least not in the way one hopes. What makes this experience all the more frustrating is the lack of external pressure on the staff—again, only five tables were occupied, which makes the sluggish service and inattentiveness all the more inexcusable. In sum, There are simply too many places that get it right—for less money, with far more care.
