Hinata is a Sushi Omakase restaurant located in San Francisco's Van Ness district. We use quality ingredients along with authentic techniques to bring the most surprising and innovative Omakase experience to our guest.

We offer a prix fixe sushi menu starting at $98. Our menu will change daily, depending on the season and what is available from the Toyosu Market in Japan. Our full course meal will include multiple courses: 18 pieces of nigiri sushi, 3 refreshing bites, miso soup, and house-made dessert.

Please note:
- We only offer a set Omakase tasting menu (each reserved seat MUST order the Omakase)
- We can not accommodate Vegetarians/Vegans.
- We require 24 hour notice for any allergies and dietary restriction modifications
- We are unable to modify the menu on the same day of the reservation
- Please review the CANCELATION/NO-SHOW policy before booking

Experience the exquisite Hinata Omakase tasting menu, featuring the finest selections directly sourced from Toyosu Fish Market in Tokyo. Indulge in multiple courses of premium nigiri and seasonal ingredients, all meticulously hand-crafted for your enjoyment. Optional beverage pairings are curated to elevate the dining experience. We will happily accommodate most dietary restrictions with advance notice, but we do not have vegetarian or vegan options. Visit www.hinata.com. Please be advised that we are unable to accept cancellations or rescheduling within 48 hours. The price of the menu does not include the service charge, sales tax, and the SF mandate. It was a great experience for my daughters bday and her first omakase meal. Our sushi chef, Kyle, was personable and humorous and delivered delicious food! Great night out!

Our first time dine at Hinata , overall was ok . We had the omakase Sushi quality not what we expected. But the rice quality was perfect.

Been to a lot of omakases and I can say, this place is pretty good! Chef was good at accommodating everyone. Service was a bit ok. The servers refilled everyone’s water/drinks, but me. And I’m not much of a stickler about birthday stuff, but two people got candles on their dessert except for me. So with the water and candle, I felt a bit left out! Besides that, the chef service and food was great!

Everything was so well-executed. From the nigiri, palette cleansers, the attentative staff, and the timed courses. SF’s hidden gem on Van Ness. Had a great time with the wife, and will be back again. Will be sure to ask to sit at the bar next time!

Great experience with an exceptional value. Slightly different from my other omakase experience in terms of not too many "appetizer" or "palate refreshing" courses, but that means more "nigiri" courses, and I'm not complaining, I loved it. Great ambience; our waiter (Korean-American from LA, did not catch his name) was chill yet courteous and friendly; chef seemed a bit overwhelmed with our very talkative neighbors on both the left side and the right side, but every course he made was still superb. I'm from out of town, so I don't really know what SF's omakase scene is like in general, but for anyone that's visiting SF, I would highly recommend Hinata - I will definitely go again when I visit SF!

Overall, the price is worth for the amount and quality of food that you get. Additional supplement is also great addition! Service was mostly great, though there were some small details that could be improved on — such as wait time for the food when sitting at a table and being checked-in in order of arrival. Definitely also agree with others to reserve for the bar instead of a table as the experience is probably much better.

Hinata is by far the best omakase in the Bay Area! I've been to Hinata three times now, and each time the sushi quality and service is outstanding. Each nigiri is very unique in flavor and texture. My favorites have always been the Spanish mackerel, arctic char, and chutoro. The extra 3-piece nigiri supplement is fantastic as well. Huge thanks to the Hinata team and head chef! An exceptional experience from start to finish, can't wait to go back!
